Hi I am wondering if anyone would have any information..  

I know that with the J1 visa you can't take children with you.. 

 

But would I be able to take my child if she comes on the visa waiver or even a student visa? Etc

Visa waiver is not for living in the US.  How old is your child?  You would need to prove the ability to pay out of pocket for his or her schooling, even public school.

I was hoping I could go on the j1 and then get a job and change to the e3 visa.

1. That takes time.

2. There is no guarantee whatsoever that you'll be able to do that.
