Hi,

My husband has sent in his I-1765 Application for Employment Authorization. We filed Beginning  of March 2019

Long story short, my sister is getting married on a carnival cruise in September 2019 and the whole family is going. I am the maid of honor so it is my duty to be with my sister but of course my husband is invited and my sister has already bought our tickets. The cruise is set for Ensenada, Mexico (but will be there for a half a day)... However, my husband and I don't plan on getting off the boat.

I am worried the approval wont come in time, and i don't know what to do. I don't want to go without him. He is family and it will break my heart. Any advice?

our Receipt Number begins with MSC which i guess means it is in MO ?

Thank you for listening or helping

I’m sorry for your predicament but the same guidelines for processing this applies as for the K1...never book travel that is not refundable .. or that you can afford to lose.

Prepare to either travel without him or not attend yourself. The USCIS processing time is 6-8 months currently... is it possible it will come in time ? Yes .. is it likely to come in time ....  mmmmmm .. maybe but more likely not ..

Did your sister take out travel /cancellation insurance when she purchased the tickets ?

Did he also apply for Advance Parole (I-131). That is a separate application for travel. The I-765 doesn't help you.

it will break your sister's heart more if you don't go.
