Thank you. You’re right I am so happy when I heard she approved it. Still the same estimated completion time. Btw, my status changed again yesterday. My oath ceremony noticed was mailed and I am just waiting for it to come up on my document tab. I am from Honolulu, HI.

Thanks. I was curious because I have a 'name change' which isn't really a change but an error from my birth certificate and it's taken me this long to just get it corrected.  I accept that it will take longer. It seems to vary by location though. Some offices have more judicial ceremonies than others. And I guess it depends how backed up the courts in that jurisdiction are as well.

Wishing you the best!  Happy Thanksgiving!

Didn’t expect the journey will go this fast (estimated completion time 02/2020), but thank you Lord it went so quick. Thank you for this thread too😊

Just a question. I am curious on how to do it. I know based from reading, my kids who are still under 18, they’ll be automatically becomes US citizen. What are the things that needs to be done? Do I need to file for them and pay some fees? Or we can just go ahead and apply for US passport? Thank you so much.

I just found:

We scheduled your interview

View your letter on your documents tab for the interview date, time, and location

Note: It may take up to a few days for your letter to show on your documents tab.

What to bring

  • Green Card
  • Appointment letter
  • A second form of photo identification (such as a driver's license, passport, or state ID card)

1) Soooo....how long does it take until the letter shows on the documents tab? And how far is the interview usually scheduled after the notice?

2) We had a trip scheduled in a week. So if the interview is at the same time, what do you advise? To cancel the trip or to reschedule the interview?

3) Should we take other things not asked for in the "What to bring" section? Like tax returns, or just go with what they asked for?

Thanks for any info in advance!!

1: the letter will show on your account in 2 days.

2: the interview most likely will be after 2 or 3 weeks at least.

3: its good to bring tax returns.

Good luck

The problem is it's only my daughter who's traveling on the 10th and staying away for two months. So with this schedule the interview will certainly occur during her trip. Do you think she should reschedule on her own, while the rest of us go ahead and go through the interview? Or does rescheduling cause a lot of problems or delays?

Thanks so much for your prompt answer!!

Who is filing for citizenship, you or your daughter and how old is she?

I got my husband and daughter the green card through the alien of extraordinary ability path five years ago. So we're all naturalizing now. She's 24.

Any applicant who cant attend their interview must request to change the interview date, this will cause delays.

Of course I expect that. But if she's going to be away for two months, are the delays in the rescheduling longer than that? Or is there no way to find out? And is pre-scheduled travel a reason they'd accept for rescheduling?

They will always accept rescheduling, you don't really need a "valid" reason. I don't think there is a way to know when will the appointment be rescheduled for.

Thanks for that. Now we really need to find out when the interview is scheduled and study the logistics of cancelling her trip vs rescheduling the appointment.
