From which email did you get the notification of the interview? the no-reply@uscis.dhs.gov one? And how far off did they schedule your interview?

I filed on June 20

To start with, as I stated in my posting, no date for the interview was given.  It said : We will mail you an interview notice.
The email came from: USCIS-CaseStatus@uscis.dhs.gov.
Hope that helps.

That's very helpful, thank you! I'll keep an eye on my email more closely, since this appeared in your inbox, while your case status online didn't reflect this.

The website stated the an interview was scheduled but did not give a date. Just like the email. Here is the text on the web:

On October 7, 2019, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, Receipt Number IOE90XXXXXXXX. We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice.

I must have misunderstood since your original posting stated that even though you got an interview notice, your Case Completion Time remained the same and wasn't adjusted.

It is true still says Case Completion: May 2020 on new website : https://myaccount.uscis.gov/.

Maybe they will update it when they list interview date. Few in Atlanta office had their interview scheduled within 4 months of applying online. Typically date of interview is roughly 1 month after the date of interview notice.

For me it's a whole year from applying so far. Here's hoping they will contact me with an interview notice much sooner than that.

My husband has to leave the country for a few months. Does this affect his application? We submitted our N-400 in June, and he may need to stay out of the country for 3-4 months starting January.

As fas as I know as long a person spends at least 6 months a calendar year in USA he or she should be OK
