Hi,

 

So glad to see people helping each other. Posting here with hopes to get some help, I hope I am not posting in the wrong thread:

 

My question is regarding tax returns, we have full copies from TurboTax (downloaded from the website), should we submit the whole printed docs? They are about 300 pages combined.

I haven't heard anything back yet. Looking at the trend, it seems they take at least 2 days after they receive the packet to send any text acknowledgement. Hoping I would receive text by tomorrow, but I think even if they don't send acknowledgement until later, there shouldn't be any issue with timing.

 

The only concern I have is that, I didn't have much to include in the packet. I only included 2  years of tax transcripts, joint bank account statement, Credit Card statements, retirement account showing spouse as a beneficiary, Life insurance of my spouse showing me as a beneficiary. That's about it.

Your list of docs seems good enough. My packet has more or less same docs plus driving license for both of us showing same address, we submitted 3 years tax doc, my new Indian passport which was issued last year in Washington DC having my spouse’s name on it.

I am pretty sure you will hear something by tomorrow.

How did you provide 3 years' Tax Docs? You mean 2016 with only the US spouse's details?

You mean you guys corrected 2016 taxes..right? Thats what we did, we added my name in 2016 while filing for 2017. So yes we amended 2016 after my arrival though in 2016 i was in India.
