It’s so mentally draining... Having to wait forever is killing, but what choice do we have !
Let’s just keep our fingers crossed, hopefully, the waiting will soon be over

Hi there, I also filed my I-751 in June 2019 and my 18 month period expires in early Feb 2021. You're legal visa status will not expire on 01/25/2020, just your evidence of it. Your visa status remains the same until they make a final decision on your case.

If you require evidence of your visa status (for work or to travel intentionally, for example) you will need to get an appointment to receive an I-555 stamp in your passport. You can do so by calling the USCIS Contact Center on 800-375-5283. I've read on these forums that they'll only schedule an appointment if the matter is urgent (impending travel that can't be avoided or a work visa issue, etc) and apparently it takes a while to get an appointment. Haven't called myself, but planning to do so closer to Feb.

Perhaps other folks on this forum can speak to the logistics of getting the I-555 stamp after their 18 month extension expired?...

Hope this is helpful. Good luck!

I was told I can call as soon as I’m30 days away from the expiration of the extension letter. Which for me is at the end of this week. Stupidest thing: I have my N400 interview 5 days before my 18 month extension expires.. but I can’t rely on getting a stamp then or that they’ll do the oath and interview part for my ROC as well.

Good morning all,

This room has been quiet for some days now , any update from anyone?
Straight to the point , I filed my I751 on the 9th of July 2019, got NOA on 15th , on October 3rd, my case was updated to “Ready to be scheduled for an interview “ after I got an extension.

Ever since then , My case status has been the same and my extension expired on 01/17/2021

Fast forward to two weeks ago, I called USCIS for infopass and I got a call back yesterday, my appointment for infopass is today by 11:15am.

cheers

This is insane!! I thought I'm the only one left from the July filers.  🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I filed July 12th, then got an RfE, then case transferred to NBC then ready for interview since july 1 2020.

I see people getting approved after 6,7,8 months and they completely forgot or lost our cases. I'm going crazy too!! This is so not fair.

Was ur case ready for an interview since Oct 2019 or 2020?

New York office sucks.  I don't know if there is hope for us 😭

Ready to be scheduled for interview since 2019, I actually filed in June not July, don’t know why I typed July( guess Coz I was multi tasking then ) , either ways , NY office really sucks.

I just got my infopass, which is valid for a year. I hope our cases are treated and scheduled in the first quarter as the wait is killing mentally.

Hannah_NYC, let’s keep our fingers crossed and keep the hope alive.

Crazy... I also noticed lots of WAC filers from 2019 are getting interviews, why? Many people are wondering if thats just a way to stall time and not deal with applications processed by NBC. I read few times some people were ready to be schedule for interview and then their status updated to card being produced. Wonder is thats true🤔

I wonder if that is possible too!! Hopping for that because I really sent a lot of proofs. Not sure why are they scheduling me.

hello, please share your receipt of I-551. What documents should I take with me? And is it possible to leave the country?

Ive seen  that happening several times as well. Theoretically they want to interview everybody who hasn’t received their green card though adjustment of status (meaning people who came with the CR1)  because they want you to have at least one interview in the states. But I mean their case load is just nuts, so I’m sure some people slip through the cracks in this system.

You only have to go with your expired green card, valid passport and  valid means of identification, like your driver’s license . Mine was very fast , just 15 - 20 minutes I was in and out.
