Yes! My check was cashed and I got a text with my receipt number on Friday, 06/28. My NOA letter came yesterday, 07/01.

Okay, have a laugh at my freak out moment. I got the mail today and saw something official looking from the government. Of course, I tore into it first....and it was a check...for about $150....I was like....what? Are they refunding us biometrics? No, that was only $85. Did they not accept our application and just refund us part of it? I have absolutely no precedent on which to base this. I am scanning the check carefully, looking for clues. And then I see....it's a tax refund. Yeah, I've never had one of those before....

PS. For those who are having trouble checking their status online, I called in. They said they've been having trouble with the system since December, though it was fixed, but it's not. She couldn't tell me anything about what it said because my husband was not present (anyone can check a status online with the number, but apparently on the phone, the number isn't enough). She did say I would receive a biometrics letter in the mail, usually with a month of when the case is received. She also said (we have a two week trip coming up in August) that they can reschedule biometric appointments no problem.

Hello everyone.. I just got a text with my case number (MSC) and I was wondering if this means that I won't get an RFE for leaving the blanks instead of marking N/A or if it means nothing, just that they received?  😦

You wouldn't get an RFE for leaving blanks, I think it means they've accepted the petition and you now have a case. Has your check been cashed?

I was just worried as some people said they don't care about the blanks and some said they got RFE because of it. But I sent a money order and I just confirmed with Wells Fargo that it was "paid/cashed" on July 1st. 

Does his mean we are good? Do they usually not cash until they get RFE response?

Pretty sure you’re good!! They usually cash when they accept your petition, so you should be fine in terms of intake processing now and just start the waiting game. 

 

The RFE comes later on if they need more evidence, depending on whether the evidence you sent was adequate. I’ve generally seen people receive RFE a few months to a year into case processing.

I received my case number tonight. LIN Nebraska... I wonder what that means in terms of processing time these days, as according to the thread here on VJ the turnaround seems to be around 12 months.

I will be sending my packet these days but I'm kind of nervous. I have some questions, hope you can help me. 

* tax returns and transcripts for how many years? 

* Do I need W2 forms? How many years?

*Joint bank statements for how many months/years? 

*Electric bills- how many months?

*How to organize the photos? Can I send a photo album or they have to be glued on a regular white paper?
