Police Report n/a with clean record?

My fiancée doesn’t have any criminal records but wanted to know if it’a necessary to still have a police report confirmation stating a clean record? I don’t think she needs anything on this but I appreciate your feedback to confirm this doubt.

She’s Russian? Yes, she needs one from Russia. If she’s lived in other countries she may need one from each of those countries too. Check the NVC reciprocity table. Even if she has no criminal record she needs something official that says “no records found” or something like that.

Yes she is Russian and this is for the Interview. In the past (for Ukraine)  my lawyer told me it is not necessary to have a police report if you don’t have a record.  She just looked into it and she said it takes one to two months to get this report 🤦🏻‍♂️ Maybe I should consult a lawyer again, the interview in June 21

It did not take Anastasia two months to get one, and that was just late last year (she requested one right after our NOA2, which was in November of 2018). Granted, this is Russia.

Clean or dirty,  a police report is required , they want proof and the applicants word is not sufficient

Request one now, and hope it gets to her in time; if there's an expedite option, use it.

 

I think the likely response to a missing police certificate for an otherwise approved case would be a 221g refusal pending your fiancee providing one, but I'm not sure.

Thanks everyone for your advice, she was able to find a private service that can expedite her the report on June 19, just a few days before the interview— phew!

Hello,

 

Your fiance definitely needs a police clearance certificate from each country she lived in for more than 6 months over the age of 18. I belive the electronic version of MVD police certificate can be obtained faster than in 4 weeks. You should ask her to check gosuslugi.ru website.

 

In case you won't be able to bring the certificate to the interview, she will most likely be asked to email the copy of it once she gets it. Till then the interview status will be pending.
