Hey guys, my wife got her combo card towards the end of October 2018. We plan on traveling by November/December 2019 to the Philippines, and I'm looking on submitting a renewal for her EAD/AP and wanted to know how long can it possibly take for her to get the new combo card?

We've applied for her I-485 over a year ago and still no interview appointment yet, and it took her a long time just to get her combo card too.

IMO, it seems like 6-8 months at the moment.

Even earlier (i.e. at any time) is possible for AOS-based filings per the I-765 and I-131 instructions:

At any time. "Under these circumstances, you may file Form I-131 together with your Form I-485, or you may submit Form I-131 at a later date." It's free. File the I-765 and I-131 for renewal ASAP.

----------------------------

As a data point, I filed for renewal on Dec. 28, 2018. Today, it's still pending at 5 months and 6 days.

That’s for the initial application only.

Correction: It seems to be 120 days for combo card renewal in fact. 180 days for EAD only for sure.

I believe OP isn’t interested in many info in that Q&A, just the renewal one which unless backed up by a new updated rule, i say use.

I read the same page back in December. In order to verify, I called USCIS and requested a Tier 2. She said anytime for renewal. To verify I called 3 more times. All 4 Tier 2's said the same thing. IMO, OP should call and request a Tier 2.
