So for now i sit and wait for the mailman. Even my cat tries to ambush the mailman, soon as she sees him, she runs to the door

Hi June Filers,

I went to USCIS Newark local office to submit my birth certificate as they requested during the interview almost a month ago.

The officer took my I-94 and EAD card, he stamped my passport. He remembered that I was going to Canada, said I can go to Canada now.

He also asked if I live in same address, and I said No, I have moved to a new place a week ago, and I changed my address online. He asked my new address and said I will receive the card in 3 weeks.

Hi June Filers.

I had a nice interview this morning. I had a problem with the birth certificate, but the officer said that he will approve my case and stamp my passport when I bring it in person, and my wife doesnt need to show up.

Do we have a proper guideline on what to have before the interview? Can someone post a guideline for this? Thanx in advance!!!

Thanks for the update LisalovestheUSA! Great that things are going really well for you!

Lisa and Spence, congrats on the EAD and AP, and really hope you get the AOS approval soon. Often the AOS is approved weeks after the other two, so don't give up hope yet!

CK & Tydi, I used the interview letter that USCIS sent, as my guide for the interview. They list all the things that we should bring to the interview. I also brought a copy of the AOS packet I sent, along with originals. Most important though is the evidence of valid relationship, like utilities statements, bank accounts, credit cards, lease/home ownership etc. Notarized statements from friends can be included but are not really on the "absolutely necessary" list. And don't forget the certified marriage certificate, often they ask to see the original & copy at the interview. Good luck at your interview!

Thanks for the reply. I did look on my wife interview letter. I will follow that. One question though, we do have a bank account, Medical Insurance together but not the utilities bills at all. Will that be enough? I did order 2 certified copy of Marriage Certificate. This will not be a problem. On the interview part, do they separate the wife and husband in the separate room or in the same room on the interview?

Attended my AOS interview this morning. We were not asked for ANY paperwork whatsoever (no bills, joint assets etc) and the inspector simply looked at 2 photos before saying we had been approved. Seemingly a total formality.

The site has been most useful and I would recommend it strongly as a resource for those in a similar position.

CK&Tydi, don't worry, if you have at least 2 proofs with both your names on it, it should be enough. Most people here had insurance in both names but I didn't, and it was fine. I gotta wait till open enrollment in Oct to add his name to my insurance. They do NOT separate husband and wife during the AOS interview. Both sit together, side by side.

Today I got 3 emails from CRIS saying the approval notice was sent today. We already received the Welcome letter, stating the case had been approved. Does the approval notice mean the green card is being sent?

My cat ambushes the mailman Its so funny to see her run when she catches a glimpse of the mailman coming to the door, even my mother-inlaw starts laughing......and says to the cat...."get the bad mailman for mommy!!" She watches patiently as he drops the mail in the mailbox and she meows loudly at the mailman as if to say........"ok, where is my mommy's interview date you bad bad man" He just looks at me and says...... "nice guard cat you got there Mrs X"
