Today my husband and I arrived at the USCIS center in Graden City, Long Island at 8:00 am. It took us about a 30 min wait before we were called upstairs to the interview waiting area. Then about 1 hour and 15 minutes before we were called to the interview room by a friendly immigration officer. She asked a couple questions like...how did we meet?...how long were we dating before we decided to get married?...and then asked for proof of our marriage. We gave her a few bills we shared in our name, our health insurance card and our daughter's birth certificate. Everything was going smoothly until she informed us that our immigration doctor did not fill out some paperwork correctly so although she wanted to approve us she couldn't without the corrections. :crying: I felt a bit disappointed, but the good news is that she offered us an alternative. She said that if we hurried to the doctor's office and give her the corrected paperwork that she would approve us and stamp the card too. So we scurried out of there, drove all the way to the doctor's office (Thank god she was there) waited for 30 min. until she corrected the paper work, grabbed a bite to eat, and then zoomed back to Garden city, where we waited for another hour and 45 minutes! Then they finally called our name gave us the stamped passport and informed us that I could travel now!!! Overall, the process was pleasant. It was not as nerve wrecking as I first imagined, and the female officer was extremely nice. The truth is that even the long periods of waiting does not seem that serious after you hear the words, "approved" and "congratulations!" Good luck to everyone. Thanks for al your support and encourage throughout this tedious process. Please add us to the list: Filed 6/14, Rcv'd 6/21, NOA1 7/2, Biometrics 7/26, Trans xx, Interview 6/14. Currently in security checks, also filed via DORA.

Anybody else in the June group who filed via DORA? We're starting to get rather discouraged being stuck in security checks again, and wonder if anyone else in the same boat.

And thanks to SnA for keeping this list, most appreciated

hi, i would love to add you in our List but your NOA is dated July 2 so you're considered a July filer. here's the link http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...5&start=825

Alhamdulillah, try to find a cheap local govt health center to get the vaccinations, they are less expensive there. Then take the records to a civil surgeon (call around and go to the least expensive one!) for him to copy onto the I-693A (vaccination supplement). That's what we did!

Congrats on all the approvals!!!!:dance:

Alhamdulillah, try to find a cheap local govt health center to get the vaccinations, they are less expensive there. Then take the records to a civil surgeon (call around and go to the least expensive one!) for him to copy onto the I-693A (vaccination supplement). That's what we did!

This is a good idea! I never even thought about it. I wonder if he just goes to our doctor, if our insurance would pay for any of it? Thanks for the advice!!!

Congrats to you

MariaDane and Kayz,

Sorry for not responding earlier. It's like my life has become very busy with job stuff and family. :S

Kayz the only thing I can think of in terms of the delay, is that since you were transferred to CSC, there could be that slight bump where you're whole file is moved. One thing good is, you will most likely get your GC faster than me! :) So the EAD, in a way will be moot. AHAHHA. Since we both are with the Wash DC office, they are still processing apps from October 2006! :dead:

MariaDane, from what our lawyer said, if you don't get the EAD 90-days from the time of filing, the USCIS must issue one asap; apparently, it's the law in the INA. If not, you compel them by suing, this is according to my lawyer. I hope you get your soon and I'll say a prayer. Here's to more speedy approvals guys.
