Hi June Filers,

I got my EAD in the mail today. I have been checking my status online constantly, but there was no update since 7/02/2007 for I-765, but I have gotten 2 touches last 2 weeks for I-485. I didnt get any email notice either.

I hope everybody will get such surprise mails next coming days...

Kaan

I had stopped checking for emails and the USCIS website for touches and updates, because I felt like I was letting it consume me. However, after reading your post last night I decided to check just out of curiosity, so I went to my email first and there was a message from USCIS stating that a production of my EAD card was ordered! I was so shocked! That was my first update since June 30th. The only ironic thing is that I'll probably get my Green Card around the same time I get the EAD because m interview is next Tuesday.

Congrats!! on your EAD

I hope they approve mine soon.

Mike

Yes I waited long time finally , I received from the mail yesterday and I went to immigration office last friday but look like the infopass is helpful though. Thanks Cherry.

Yeah! :D

Yesterday, Maricel received her EAD card in the mail by snail mail as a surprise. Then, today we had our AOS interview and she was approved.

The Interview lasted about 20 minutes. From what I can recall he asked to see the following:

  • My driver's license and Maricel's learner's permit.
  • Both our passports.
  • Maricel's Birth Certificate.
  • My paystubs.
  • Maricel's EAD work authorization card.
  • Wedding photos.
  • Any evidence of our living together (Auto Ins., Health Ins., Utilities).
  • Maricel's I-693A medical vaccine supplement.

After swearing us both in, he asked questions while he looked over our documents. From what I can recall he asked us about the following topics:

  • When, where and how we met.
  • Did I meet her family and how did it go.
  • How many times she entered the USA (once) and her POE.
  • Date and place of marriage.
  • Address, phone, SSN.
  • My date of birth and where I was born.
  • Where Maricel was born and her date of birth.
  • How many times both of us were married (both first time).

We were both nervous, but as it went along we starting chatting about items he had decorating his office. All in all, it wasn't that difficult. At the end, he said we were approved. He gave us a letter confirming the approval and instructions on how and when to apply for Removal of Conditional Residency in 90 days before the second anniversary of gettting the GC approval (from today's date). He took Maricel's EAD card and stamped her passport with the AOS approval. Finally, he recommended we wait to receive the GC itself in a few weeks before going down and applying with Social Security to change Maricel's maiden name to her married name.

We both are floating on cloud nine. We were hoping for an approval, but never expected to get the confirmation letter and passport stamp at the end of the Interview. We are just thankful to avoid name checks and the delays that go with that. Congrats to all the recent EAD/GC/AP approvals that are starting to roll in. Good luck to all who have upcoming interviews or are waiting for good news.
