 Amen to that !! We definitely deserve a fast approval without interview. They have no idea what we had to go through during our K1 process. All I can say is dealing with Manila Embassy is not recommended for weak -heart people.

It's nice to be back here..Husband and I had a very hectic two weeks. We had our wedding celebration dinner on 7/7/07 and there has been non-stop lunch/dinner invites from our friends and relatives after that.I'll post some of the pictures here soon.

My husband had his Biometrics last Friday and it went well.We got there around 10:45am.His appointment is at 11 AM. The parking lot was full of cars so I prepared myself for a long wait outside since they told me I couldn't go inside with him..10 minutes after,I saw my hubby coming out from the building and he was done  . Now, plese let the touching continue  ..

Last application activitiy was a touch for our EAD on 6/29/07. Our AOS seems to be collecting dust somewhere  ..

Hello all. We have a question and we're hoping someone might know... :help:

Is it absolutely necessary to have a new social security card (with new married last name) when you go in for your AOS interview?

My wife was here as a student originally, and her I-20 expired very shortly after we were married. Well, she just went to the local social security office to get a new SS card (with her new last name), but they wouldn't give her one because they said her I-20 is expired, and so she doesn't have any documentation indicating that she's allowed here in the US permanently. The person wouldn't accept the explanation that our AOS is in process.

If her previous last name on the SS card is fine, then we won't worry. But if anyone has any information to the contrary, it would be great to hear it now. :)

Thanks!

2009: I-751 (Removal of permanent resident conditions)

cunnind,

If your wife's nee is on the SSC and your attempts to change it with the SSA was fruitless, I wouldn't worry about it. It is not imperative that she has your last name for now. If at your interview you are asked why she doesn't have your last name yet (which I highly doubt), you will explain to them preceisely what you've explained to us here: it was not possible because the SSA did not allow you to. :)

celikkanat,

Wonderful news! Here's to a speedy approval.

Don't worry, it's not a bad thing - lots of people get transferred to CSC, it just means you'll most likely get approved (eventually, that is!) without an interview. Congrats - have been watching out for the first June person to get transferred!

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png
