Then we are ready to file it again as soon he is back on his office.

You may want to ask your lawyer: What happens as the fee increase, and change in the way AOS is filed, happens July 30th, which is when he's back in his office? As of July 30th the fees go up and AP and EAD will be included in applying for AOS. Will you still be able to apply for EAD alone? If so, how much more will it cost, and is the lawyer willing to pay that increased fee? Is there any way that it could be mailed out before he returns to avoid the confusion?

Hi Angilla

Our AOS/AP is not filed the same place and won't affect our EAD situation.

So at this point we are a kind of lucky.

Yes the lawyer is informed about the increase and I guess for his own sake that he will figure out a way to do it before.

Is the new increase on July 30 or does it take place the day after?

That's not what I meant. As of July 30th people don't apply for AOS, EAD, and AP separately as 3 different forms anymore. People apply for all 3 together. So I suggest you ask your lawyer if, after July 30th, you will still be able apply for EAD alone... or if the only opportunity to apply for EAD will be when you mail your AOS application. I'm just a little worried that you'll wait for your lawyer to get back and you'll be told sorry, you can only apply for EAD when you send your AOS application, can't apply for EAD by itself anymore. I don't know how it's going to work.

Yes, it'll still be possible to apply for an EAD separately after July 30th.... but the new fee for the I-765 would apply. :)

ohh ok now I understand you.

I am not sure about anything of this.

The only thing I can say is that he told us that CSC told us for me to refile a new application on my EAD on the correct categori c9. I guess we are still under old rules since we started everything before July 30

But your thoughts are very much coming up to be concidered.

Still I believe that we are on right course if we follow CSC's notice from yesterday.

Yeah!! Might make the lawyer hurry up a bit, knowing that THEY are going to be the one footing the bill if they miss the 'deadline'. Although having said that... I wonder if the lawyer even knows about the fee increase. Just make sure that if they do file after the 30th, they don't send in the 'old' fee!!

I am just reading the agreement from lawyer with us.

He says that he want us to feel safe with him and if any doubt we can always contact him and straight it out and hope for our cooperation in any matter.

Our case is fully payed until the greencard is in my hand.

The only PS he have is: If my greencard is denied and if we need to have another interview, we gotta pay him extra $300 for him to join us to this interview also

I feel he is a good lawyer and really are trying to help us out of his sleeping mistakes that I bet his assistent did

Biometrics Experience Today

First off, Annette, glad to know things are going to be OK re: your 765.

Today, I had my biometrics appointment in Alexandria, VA. Our ASC letter ordered me to be there at 2:00 pm, but I decided to leave much earlier and commuted my way there from DC. It was a rather efficient commute. (Yellow Line to Huntington Station, then the REX bus to the ASC) As per the letter, I did not bring my cell phone.

I got to the ASC at 1:00 pm and figured I had an hour to kill. There is a nice outdoor seating area under some pleasant trees and decided to do my NYT crosswords. A few minutes later, I figured I should "check-in" at the ASC. It was 1:20 pm. There was a security guard who was very efficient and not very smiley. She asked me for the ASC notice, asked to see my fingers and asked if I had a cell phone. She didn't even search me for the phone; she just asked. I guess technically, I could have brought my phone but just have it off.

The office was very clean, bright and seemed quite new. There were hardly any people in there. I filled in a general information sheet that asked for my name, SSN, notice receipt numbers etc. As soon as I was done, a young lovely Latina lady smiled and said, "are you ready, sir?". How charming, I said to myself. :)

We chatted a bit and she giggled when she tried, in earnest, to pronounce my middle name. She was like "how do you pronounce it?!" I smiled and said, "it's easy actually, just do it phonetically." She did and it was perfect.

She took detailed digital copies of my fingers and thumbs. I had an uncooperative left pinky who just didn't want to get recorded. We had to do it three times.

Then she asked me if I was ready for my photo... I straightened out a bit and smiled. "Nice sir, but no teeth please." HAHHA. OK. So smiled with no teeth. Signed my name on an electronic pad and that was it.

I was out of the ASC at 1:35 pm; 15 minutes start to end (could have been shorter if I didn't shoot-the-######). Make note, that my ASC appointment was at 2:00 pm!

Here's praying that the inevitable interview was just as pleasant. That's going to be at the Fairfax, VA local office.
