In a kind of way I think my husband will be a little proud at me since I am the immigrant and still study English :D

And all the emails to the lawyer the last 2 days is from myself

:dancing: Ha, that is good to know! Perhaps if your hubby is made aware, he can do this :bonk: to your lawyer, so he could be more diligent in the future. After all, what the hell are we paying these leeches for in the first place? With the foresight I have now, I would have done this whole thing on my own sans the lawyer.

I came here too late to know that I could get so much help and be my own lawyer haha

Maybe I should suggest him to be his assistent  Just kidding

If it will cause more aggravation and stress to either of you both, certain things are best left unsaid... such as this SNAFU with the misfiled EAD; (American-English for, Situation Normal, All ###### Up (sorry if you already knew this)) pardon the French in that aside there, Annette. :)

 I never really paid attention to the "pardon my French" expression until I said it to my French husband after cursing one time. He took it well, he was laughing and asked why on earth we call cursing French. I explained that it's just a phrase and I don't quite know the origin of it.

Apologies in advance for the impertinent thread, but since we're all waiting, why not pass the time with fun banter!

Yes, I've wondered the same thing, Angilla. Its etymology appears to be from the dubious association of vulgarity, sexuality and obscenity of the French. Of course, this is highly contested, and one of many explanations.

Certainly don't tell your hubby that! (F)

I thoroughly advocate going through the immigration process by yourself, only using an attorney for an initial consultation about the process. Use a good, trusted attorney for this initial consultation; they'll charge you a lot, but you'll only have to use them once.

Attorneys seem to mess up more than the immigrants! As long as your case is pretty simple (that is, you don't have any criminal history or something else that would make your application difficult), I think it's best to do it by yourself.

I am trying to set up the email notification for Luz and Robins AOS. But it seems they are not in the automated system yet because when I put the case numbers from the NOA1 in it says that the case cannot be found. How long does it usually take to get in the system? The receipt date is June 24 and the NOA1 date is July 2.

Join the club! A lot of us are having that problem. :crying: Others keep saying it takes several days for the numbers to show up on the system. Hope we can successfully register the numbers soon. Until then, all we can do is keep trying to register them every day.

My local ASC is in West Palm Beach, Florida.

My biometrics was at 1PM ET today. Went very smoothly and I was back in my car BEFORE 1PM.

Be sure to NOT take a mobile into the building or you will be sent back out and lose your place in the queue. Several people tried to bring their mobile in (why?!) and were sent out.

I might be paranoid but my other piece of advise is to take good care of your hands int he week leading up the appointment. I went fishing a week ago and managed to cut a finger. It healed in time but I was told today that an unhealed or healing wound will result in the appointment being rescheduled. It just isnt worth the delay.

FYI I note that my Biometrics wasnt on the list above.

Paul

Thanks for the advice, Paul. All good to know. Where is your local ASC?

OMG :o

Thank you all for your help.

My lawyer just realize that he did something wrong with the code after several explanations to him by mail

I'm quite impressed your lawyer actually admitted to the error, and that they bothered to double check (only after you pressed the point, of course)... but it's just a shame that you have to be constantly checking on them through this. I'd imagine one of the reasons you're hiring a lawyer is to take some of the burden and stress of knowing all about the process off of yourselves... and yet you can't rely on the lawyer to get it right, so need to constantly be checking they've done things properly. I'm too much of a control freak, no way I could relax enough to let a lawyer take care of this stuff!

BTW, I read your last post on the other thread... do you have any information about this San Diego pilot thing the lawyer keeps referring to? Haven't actually seen anyone else mention that before, so... hopefully the lawyer knows what they're doing there.

Well done on getting it sorted, though - if you're ever worried the lawyer's messed something up, don't let it rest until you're satisfied! There's nobody who cares about the outcome of your case as much as the two of you, and therefore nobody who's going to pay as much attention to making sure it's all done right! :)

Thank you very much. I am a kind of reliefed.

This has been hanging on my shoulders since you guys told me he was wrong.

I don't know what the pilot in San Diego is for a guy hahaha

I know now what my lawyer was talking about when he refer to San Diego pilot program.

USCIS also described a second pilot program currently in place. I-485 applicants who reside in the San Diego USCIS District, and who file an I-485 with the NBC, undergo a slightly different I-485 adjudications process than customers residing in other geographic locations. Within 90 days of the I-485 filing, the San Diego based I-485s are pre-screened at the NBC, an ASC appointment is issued to the applicant, and an I-485 interview appointment is scheduled. USCIS stated that it intended to expand this pilot program to the Albany and San Antonio service areas as well.

Hi, we are June filers and newbies to visajourney.com. I have a few questions, some of which belong here and some of which don't (please indulge us as fellow June filers!).

--- Can we be added to list of June filers you're keeping? So far as we can tell, we are the only June filers at the Atlanta service center.

--- Can we get a little help with some visajourney.com questions?

---- How are you folks getting photos where your avatar is on your profile?

---- How are you getting your timelines with all those good comments appended to your signature?

This is not the most intuitive communications tool and a little help would be appreciated so we can contribute.

Thanks much and good luck everyone!!

So the update for my husband is NOA1 July 3, 2007 for AOS, EAD and AP - does that mean that I need to leave the June filers? :(

cshell

I guess so... I was initially going to join the May filers, but a little research told me to join the month that my NOA1 falls in. All the best.

Steve n Anna, thank you for including me in your fab list. Appreciate it! May good news come in the mailboxes soon :)

OUR CASE NUMBERS WERE FINALLY AVAILABLE ONLINE TODAY.....JULY 7. OUR NOA WAS JUNE 25. HOPE SOME OF THE OTHERS WERE UPDATED AND ADDED TO THE SYSTEM. IT'S ALWAYS KIND OF A RELIEF TO KNOW THAT THAT ARE THERE. NOW THE REAL WAIT AND SEE BEGINS.

CHUCK, ZHANGBEI AND XUERU
