Just an update. Got a Biometrics appointment for 7/17/2007. Still waiting for AP NOA1.

Mike.

Hey Mike,

Check your timeline. It appears that your AOS NOA1 shows that it was on July 27, 2007; the not so distant future! :) Congrats on your case moving forward.

My biometrics was at 1PM ET today. Went very smoothly and I was back in my car BEFORE 1PM.

Be sure to NOT take a mobile into the building or you will be sent back out and lose your place in the queue. Several people tried to bring their mobile in (why?!) and were sent out.

I might be paranoid but my other piece of advise is to take good care of your hands int he week leading up the appointment. I went fishing a week ago and managed to cut a finger. It healed in time but I was told today that an unhealed or healing wound will result in the appointment being rescheduled. It just isnt worth the delay.

FYI I note that my Biometrics wasnt on the list above.

Paul

Well, good catch by us and you. If you never brought the subject up, your lawyer surely wouldn't have. I use a lawyer too, and trust me, he should be paying me to do our AOS.

Like I said, read and understand as much as possible, because you both are the only ones in this world that have a truly vested interest in your AOS journey. Be more hands-on with your lawyer- especially now since he seems to have already screwed something up, now is the time to be uber-diligent.

I am trying to set up the email notification for Luz and Robins AOS. But it seems they are not in the automated system yet because when I put the case numbers from the NOA1 in it says that the case cannot be found. How long does it usually take to get in the system? The receipt date is June 24 and the NOA1 date is July 2.

I can assure you I have learned my lesson.

As you say we should also have some money back because we have corrected everything on our applications so far.

I barely don't dare to tell this to my husband when he is back from work

He already have told me that I shouldn't be so worry when we have a lawyer.

I'm quite impressed your lawyer actually admitted to the error, and that they bothered to double check (only after you pressed the point, of course)... but it's just a shame that you have to be constantly checking on them through this. I'd imagine one of the reasons you're hiring a lawyer is to take some of the burden and stress of knowing all about the process off of yourselves... and yet you can't rely on the lawyer to get it right, so need to constantly be checking they've done things properly. I'm too much of a control freak, no way I could relax enough to let a lawyer take care of this stuff!

BTW, I read your last post on the other thread... do you have any information about this San Diego pilot thing the lawyer keeps referring to? Haven't actually seen anyone else mention that before, so... hopefully the lawyer knows what they're doing there.

Well done on getting it sorted, though - if you're ever worried the lawyer's messed something up, don't let it rest until you're satisfied! There's nobody who cares about the outcome of your case as much as the two of you, and therefore nobody who's going to pay as much attention to making sure it's all done right! :)

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

If it will cause more aggravation and stress to either of you both, certain things are best left unsaid... such as this SNAFU with the misfiled EAD; (American-English for, Situation Normal, All ###### Up (sorry if you already knew this)) pardon the French in that aside there, Annette. :)

Unless, however, you feel that making your hubby apprised of the situation will significantly change the way you two are currently riding out your AOS journey, you should tell him indeed. Leaving your proverbial "lives" to the four winds in the hands of this attorney is surely not a good thing.

Don't let the tail wag the dog; in this case, he's the tail.

In a kind of way I think my husband will be a little proud at me since I am the immigrant and still study English :D

And all the emails to the lawyer the last 2 days is from myself
