Our EAD status updated on Monday to card is being produced.  Late yesterday it changed to Case was approved - same for the AP!  We did expedite the EAD but were flat out denied without them asking for any evidence.  The day we received the denial, we visited our Congressmen's office and they sent a letter and our evidence on our behalf to expedite.  That was a month ago and no response.  The congress office did keep in touch that they had not heard anything either so we just resolved that we were denied.  Then BAM, we get a text notification on Monday.  Not sure exactly what happened, but we are thankful and praising God for the answered prayers!  Good luck to everyone and don't give up!

Out of curiosity, did your statuses get updated during the 8 hour workday of USCIS or did it get updated after or before the 9-5 window?

Every time along this whole journey that we got status updates, it was after business hours.  I think the system must just take some time to update??

In my case we got status updates (biometrics completed, ready to schedule) in the early morning (I suppose working time for uscis), however we received text messaged "we have taken an action on your case" at 4:30 am.
Very often I see that people are getting updates in a nighttime though.

You can get an idea by going to some stats here on the VJ site.

  1. From the VisaJourney website, click the Immigration Timelines link at the top of the page.
  2. Scroll down to the lower left of the page and under the header Other USCIS Timelines & Stats, click either the AOS Timelines link (to see actual timeline dates posted by VJ members) or click the Stats link to see the average wait time for your area.
  3. If you click the AOS Timelines link, you can go down the page and select your local area and then sort other VJ members timelines dates.

For Phoenix, the Stats page currently states it is taking an average 381 days from your Biometrics date until the interview.

Thank you so much!!! 381 days is more than a year, wow! well it is what it is :)

Spoke to uscis Via ask Emma and they said my case is still at nbc and normal processing is 6.5-12.5 months but couldn’t tell me anything else, wouldn’t answer if they process according to noa1 dates. Did ask for my phone number and email again!!

They periodically review the performance of each office and adjust the times accordingly.   These other offices could recently been assigned a larger case load than previously and therefore the resulting longer times to clear.

June 2019  i485 backlog stats were published a couple of days ago

YMMV
