Didn't you turn in your medical at the port of entry?

I didn't come on K1 so I didn't do a medical prior to entry and am doing it here. 😊

Oh ok gotcha! Sounds like you've got everything well organized. I was reading an Oklahoma post from a May filer who said they didn't ask for anything in the packet but they asked all the questions from section 8 of the I485 and a few personal questions.

Probably it’s not news to anyone on VJ, but since I was losing patience, I found out a 100% way how to contact a live agent online on USCIS website without having to call the hotline.

1) go to Emma (press on the question mark)

2) type “representative”

3) type what’s my case status

4) wait in line for a live agent to contact you and ask your question.

They’re also working by script, so make sure to formulate your questions very accurate, otherwise you’re gonna get a standard answer that you case may be adjudicated in 25 months 😂

this is way I found out that my case is ready to be scheduled and is still with the NBC so far, so the next status should be the interview was scheduled. Of course I don’t know how reliable this info I was given is, but and least some rest to my mind that they’re really still working on the case.

Also I found out that they work on your case since the day they received it by mail, no matter when NOA was issued, because the agent told me my case was received on June 24, even though NOA is July 16. So the late assignment of the case number doesn’t cause the delay (this information was also confirmed by a lawyer). I hope this was helpful for you guys.

If you don’t mind me asking, how did you ask them to give you your case status ? Did your case tracker show that your case was ready to be scheduled or it shows something different? Thanks in advance.

Hi! No, unfortunately the case tracker is still stuck at “fingerprint review was completed”. So that’s why I mentioned in my post that I’m not sure how reliable this info from the agent is. However the agent answered “yes” to my direct question if my case is ready to be scheduled. Also the agent confirmed it’s still at NBC, that’s why the interview wasn’t scheduled, because the local office does the scheduling.

Anyway at the very least it was helpful to find out at least that they did receive my case on June 24, that the NOA late arrival didn’t affect my case and that my case is still at NBC and they have no questions for me. Easier to find out at least this info by the internet inquiry than hang on the phone for hours to hear nothing.

Of course I hope yet to get some official info of the case change status...

Thank you so much for this. I’ll try tomorrow and see if I have some luck

@NadyaI tried this morning and got “once it is ready to be scheduled for interview you will be notified” and then standard bullshiz.

When I asked if it had left the NBC I was told they can’t see the location of my case my last letter would have that on.

so a waste of time for me

In my case I asked standard questions, both cases EAD/AOS are in queue, waiting to be assigned to someone.  I asked if it was ready to be scheduled and she said that as of today it was still in queue.

I’m sorry it wasn’t helpful for you. However, just like with the hotline, you have to be patient and look for a more helpful person on the line. For the first time I was given some standard useless answer as well. So you need to disconnect and try again and again if you really wanna try to find something out. At the very least this way of contacting USCIS maybe useful for tier 1 kind of requests, without having to wait more than an hour to hear anything.

If you wanna speak with a tier 2 officer, I’m not sure if you can do it this way. If anyone did it, please share your experience.

We've already gotten our interview letter in the mail, but informed delivery shows another letter from USCIS today, maybe it's the work permit!!

What do you mean by informed delivery?

Informed delivery is through the United States postal service, you can sign up your address and you can see your mail by email before it's delivered.
