You are correct @sashsash even if you get an offer that doesn't mean you can get the EAD in 2 weeks, it will be safer to say that it will be in one month after sending the job offer to USCIS. @Knome you might want to have a buffer time. I read comments from last year, people that got the card is producing and it was mailed one month after they saw that message. In the end we are at the mercy of the timelines, the workload, the holidays, etc

Yeah i guess so...bt i was jus trying to tell thm that so that thy wnt hesitate to provide me job offer lol

Well my spouse is working full time n has no time to do anything else.

My company back in india is offering me relocation to US as well but only after i hav a valid work visa..in short for tht too i hav to wait for EAD :(

We (me n my spouse ) r not tht big of a party ppl and v like to be overself so attending dinners and camping wit other groups is not our idea of fun.

well you gals make up something, do what you consider fun and that will help you to relief stress :) you will see that way EAD will seem faster to come

The estimate times remain 2.5-5 months as of today. I hope this is true 😍

I don't get it when they say "receipt date for a case inquiry" though Screenshot_20190731-204055_CaseTracker.thumb.jpg.31a2ab2612dd3ef4ad69f1216e92724e.jpg

If your NOA1 date is that date or earlier and you contact USCIS about your case, you will not get back a form letter saying you're within normal processing times.

Whether you get a useful answer or it helps your case move along... well, that's another story.

I was wondering if its OK to apply for jobs before u got EAD...i have been applying for jobs thru job portal sites.

one of my friend recently told me tht his lawyer suggested not to do so.

Is thr any problem in doing so ?

I have circulated my resume to various places already but hearing to him now making me lil nervous ..tht i might not did anything wrong 😕

I think there's no harm but you're supposed to put "no" when asked if you're authorized to work in the US, which is bogus (but factual unfortunately) because the application will most likely get filtered to the trash bin before it even gets to the recruiter. I would suggest trying to meet people in person either by your wife's connections or religious temples etc. My husband met a few people when he started going to church and has been making connections that could lead him to jobs in the future. Word will get around that you need a job and someone may have something eventually. You can also visit business expos or job fairs and talk to people face to face to explain the situation.

I know it's tough being at home and can even get depressing but just remember this should be over soon. It's just a stepping stone before you get your EAD or green card. Hang in there!

Try and join some gym classes or other classes of something you enjoy too. I haven't made any friends yet, but I have some acquaintances. It's rough, but we'll all get there.

Hi. Just letting you know that my case took a whole month to receive NOA1. Immediate relative, been married less than 2 years... submitted package on 06/29/2019, credit card cashed out on 07/26/2019, e-notification on 07/27/2019, NOA mail came 08/01/2019.

I was dying from waiting because everyone else seemed to get cash drawn out with in 1-2 weeks.

I hope this post will cheer people up that NOA1 could take long.

South Korean beneficiary. US Citizen petitioner. Seattle. I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131 all concurrently filing.

Thanks.

If you were to move to another state and let UCSIC know on their website is the case moved to another state or does it stay in the one you initially lived in while filing? And would it make things move slower?

Yes that's fine, it usually takes just a few days for them to send out that notice! Just made it, phew.

Moving to a new state would then mean processing will be via the new state and their timeline. This could significantly cut down interview wait times, or make it slower. It just depends on the field office you move to.
