I would also like to know that, and if it is for a 1 time trip or if we can make a few trips before getting GC

I have read that AP is usually granted for multiple entries into the US. But we are still yet to learn how long we are allowed to be out of the country for. I have read on one site it's up to a year, another site stated to leave as minimally as possible. I can't find an official source.

Based on information that I got from different people.

It’s advisable not to stay more that 3weeks outside the US with your AP.

2weeks is great but 3weeks should be your maximum if you don’t want unnecessary explanations at the POE.

You should remember that AP is for Emergencies and important travel not for vacation that you will spend months outside the country.

Although there’s Law but immigration officials can deny individuals entry back into the US citing that they feel AOS is abandoned.

It certainly seems to be best to "err on the side of caution" with AP, however I have seen many people post about trips of 2-3 months without issue. If you were to leave for 3 months though, I'd be sure not to leave the country again for awhile (unless you get the green card).

I kind of hope my husband doesn't need to travel with AP, but we're planning to go to Italy next year sometime between March - May for our "real" honeymoon, so it might be necessary.

The estimate times remain 2.5-5 months as of today. I hope this is true 😍

Someone explained in another topic  that these processing times are the consequence of faster processing for the past 2 months and have no influence on how they're processing cases right now. So basically is like seeing the past. 😩

I was wondering if its OK to apply for jobs before u got EAD...i have been applying for jobs thru job portal sites.

one of my friend recently told me tht his lawyer suggested not to do so.

Is thr any problem in doing so ?

I have circulated my resume to various places already but hearing to him now making me lil nervous ..tht i might not did anything wrong 😕

I don't think there's any harm. It's not like you are working. If anyone were to ask, just explain the situation truthfully: If you got a job offer you would apply to expedite EAD. If the expedite was rejected, you wouldn't work.

Honestly I doubt it's possible to get expedited EAD 2 weeks after a job offer. Seems like it takes a month or so. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong please.

You are correct @sashsash even if you get an offer that doesn't mean you can get the EAD in 2 weeks, it will be safer to say that it will be in one month after sending the job offer to USCIS. @Knome you might want to have a buffer time. I read comments from last year, people that got the card is producing and it was mailed one month after they saw that message. In the end we are at the mercy of the timelines, the workload, the holidays, etc

I feel you, just be patience, join classes, groups etc, I joined Meetup and now my husband and I are attending dinners, language groups, camping trips, etc.

I did have a job offer because my company offered me a relocation in the U.S., they are a worldwide company and back in Mexico I had been working for them over 13 years, so they have no problem moving a project manager to their U.S. payroll. But that is my case, I don't really know how other people are getting offers without a SSN.

Well my spouse is working full time n has no time to do anything else.

i have joined spanish language group though...

My company back in india is offering me relocation to US as well but only after i hav a valid work visa..in short for tht too i hav to wait for EAD :(

We (me n my spouse ) r not tht big of a party ppl and v like to be overself so attending dinners and camping wit other groups is not our idea of fun.
