my old aussie shepherd(blue heeler) did ok when moving from a warmer climate. i think the transition from summer to fall to winter helped. the gradual weather change seemed to help her ease in to it.

Thanks for sharing your experience. That works out well because by the time I organize for someone to take my dogs to the vet in Australia to be cleared/travel documents, book their flights, etc, I don't see them being here until towards the end of the summer.

I believe so. Now for the wait, and the wait for EAD/AP!

Okay, thank you :)
Also it seems like the status sometimes doesn't change, does it? For my EAD and AP the status it still "Case received".

Finally received the NOA alerts

received by USCIS - June 17th 2019

Check cashed -July 11 2019

Alerts received 485 765 131 - all there though sms and email on July 11 2019

Thank You USCIS GOD my case wasnt lost somewhere in the mail .

I am so happy for you, and your message definitely gives me hope. My case still has not been found. They received it on June 22, but no info still. I wrote on lockbox support, nothing yet. Contact Center is useless in this matter :( so I just have to wait more I guess.

Anyone else waiting for NOA here?

@Nadya You receive it soon this week or next week . Mine was June 17th so received last night . Yours is 22 so please be hopeful for next week . on a bright side you have already contacted lockboxsupport they will take 30 days to reply or less .i also had called uscis and tried to get tier 2 but left a waiting call list which they never called back

Yeah, that’s what I think too, I’ll be very hopeful for next week. Really don’t wanna refile this stuff again.. Contact Center is useless in such a situation as I see. They really don’t know where cases are until they’re in their database, so either luck or lockbox support 😂

was the money cashed at the same day you received NOA electronically?

and congratulations! Good luck and patience for your immigration journey. With USCIS it is Russian roulette indeed lol

Got our biometrics appointment letter this morning and tried to do a 2 pm walk-in at the Atlanta office, two hours away. I explained that we had an appointment today in Atlanta and as we live 2 hours away I thought we’d try to get them done while in town. We were turned away saying that they were not accepting any walk ins today... will try Birmingham tomorrow

Conducted a walk in at the Birmingham office today, very helpful, not busy, biometrics complete

How is everyone holding up dealing with newly married + immigrating finances and taxes and all that stuff.  Anyone have any particular tips and/or horror stories?

I just had to re-certify my student loan repayments and got slapped with all the "your spouse needs to co-sign and provide financial information" jargon I don't understand. He is being forced to create an account that requires a SSN. Thankfully he has his already but it made me think, what if he didn't have it yet, and I wasn't able to re-cert. My payments would double and I'd probably lose 5 years worth of loan forgiveness payments. These are all the minor details that got lost for me in the flood of immigration focus. SIGH. The things we do for love 😌

Still adjusting, missing home and adjusting to not working and being a stepmom to kids with issues outside of the norm and integrating into my husband’s very fluid but very busy life where as mine was full of plans and structure. It’s hard going from total independence to dependence too and in this town you can’t get anywhere if you can’t drive. Too much alone time to think too.

Thankfully I seem to have given myself a kick to get out of my self pity and not giving my homesickness as much space now. He’s been great even found me an ex pats group (although they were miserable and way older) and Irish pubs do English food we’ve found a couple of them and God bless Amazon for stocking some English foods. It’s crazy how hard this here to add me to some accounts. Thankfully I have a couple of great friends here too I made before I got here who I would be very lonely without them coming and giving me some girl time.

my brain is wasting away so going to start on the Oklahoma driving theory stuff ready for when I can do the text when we get ead!

What do you say there at the biometric center? Like the reason for walk in earlier than appointment?

Explained that we lived 1.5 hours away and were in town for a Dr visit and hoped to be able to complete it today. The lady was very nice.

Create a USCIS online account first (trust me it may be very helpful on the updates on your case than their case tracker. Had this experience with K-1 petititon).

Pick other when they ask you about the form.
May it is useless idk but I keep using all the possible resources.
P.S. Waited 28 minutes on the line. Called the second operator. She created a request for me and told me to wait 30 days. These tier 1 operators know nothing they work by scripts, maximum what they can do is to make a request (and hope they will fill in your info correctly. The operator I called yesterday didnt fill in basically anything in the inquiry form).
They also gave me a request referral number, that what could help with calling them again about the request. Make sure your operator took all the possible info from you (offer more info to them sometimes they dont even ask for it) and ask for this referral number.
Does anyone know how to get to tier 2 operator directly? Idk what to do because USCIS hotline hasnt been helpful so far.
Give you an update if i find out anything else.

OK, I established a USCIS account to track the status of a K-1.   The website when I'm logged on is......   https://my.uscis.gov/account/applicant

So now I'm working on the I-485, and they are asking for the USCIS Online Account number, which I cannot find.   So I figured......ok, guess they want to verify me first before I can get to the account number.   So I keyed in the case number I rec'd from the DOS, along with the A- number.   Message comes back that they cannot find the A- number of DOS Case ID that I entered.  Double checked my numbers and entered again.  Nada.

Any pointers for getting the USCIS Online Account Number??
