FYI - to find the Application Support Center that covers your area (where your biometrics will probably be scheduled at), put your zip code into: https://egov.uscis.gov/office-locator/#/asc

Application Support Centers are sometimes co-located with field offices, but usually are not.

We mailed our AOS and accompanying forms to the Chicago office on June 10th and USPS shows it arriving on June 13th but we still don't have notification of it having been received, the check hasn't been cashed, and we are very concerned.  We called USCIS to inquire and of course nothing was on record yet regarding the AOS and they put in an inquiry (that of course takes 15 days for a response).  Is this normal?  Am I being hyper sensitive again?

Yes, some people get their notices and texts before. Mine took 19 days for the check to be cashed, no NOAs have arrived by snail mail though, but I am happy that my biometrics appointment arrived today 28 days after they got my package, and with a date of 07/08, not really bad. So be patient everythings fine I am sure.

Still havent received her ssn yet. we applied back on the 13th of June. when we applied, my wife's arrival was not "uploaded" in SAVE.  we were told that the ss worker would keep track of when my wife's arrival was available in SAVE, then submit the application. We were handed a signed document stating the acknowledgement that  she applied for an ssn. this document included a reference #.

my wife called the ss office today, and they said the paperwork/application was submitted but is still pending and we will have to wait 3-6 more weeks to get the ss card

the downside. when i talked to HR today, they stated we have 30 days for the date we were married to add her to my insurance. but if we do not get her ssn by July 9th, she can not be added until Jan 2020.

any suggestions, comments, well wishes or hugs???

Unfortunately the SSN can take up to 4 weeks or more. However, don't lose hope because mine did take less than 3 weeks, it's possible. Is there anything you can do to fight to get her onto the insurance without a SSN? Give them a call and really push it. I know some people have found success in doing this. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Some plans have a placeholder number you can put in and then they allow you to put the real one in when they get a ssn. Have you researched your insurance company on the SSN matter a lot? I hope there's some kind of loop hole for her.

Also, can you try going into the insurance office with all of the documents to prove her lawful presence?

Funny anicdote I couldn't resist sharing. So we've been trying to track down documentation for husband's J1 Visa from 2009 for AOS packet and/or interview (this includes the items form ds2019, a copy of the visa, and i94). We sent a FOIA request to USCIS and Dept of State in February asking for these things.... Today we got a CD from USCIS labeled with the FOIA request #... It contained a PDF of my i129f app 😂😂😂  Aye yi yi.
