Great news! We just received notification that my wife's green card has been mailed, should arrive this Monday. We never received notification that the I-485 had been approved or that the card was being produced. The case status went from "Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed" after the interview on September 28th to "Card Was Picked Up By The United States Postal Service" today.

We mailed the paperwork for my wife's EAD/AP card renewal this past Wednesday. Is there any point in paying the fee ($14.65) to the USPS to intercept the package or just let it be delivered? I'm sure USCIS will simply discard the paperwork being that the I-485 has now been approved.

Hi Everyone, Hoping I can get some help / reassurance on our AOS

I received the NOA June 26, 2019 and Case is Ready to be scheduled for an Interview since 09/04/2019 - and basically no update since then. I have already sent in EAD and AP renewals.

We are in NYC which I know is long wait times but scrolling through this thread I see other NYC members have had interviews since pre covid, that have already been rescheduled and approved. I also see here https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/aoslist.php?op8=New+York+City+NY that people around our filing schedule have been interviewed already.

I just want to make sure I haven't missed something here, or done something wrong? Should I be expecting a letter to schedule an interview soon, and how does someone in similar situation become so far ahead of us?

thank you

You could have renewed it up to 180 days before it expires. You won't get the renewal card before your current one expires, but since you aren't working, then it's probably not a big deal. Here are the cover letter examples that float around on the forums which we used for my husbands renewal that we sent out at the end of August:

And of course you need a total of 4 passport style photos, 2 per form. I could not find my husbands tear off portion sheet, but I don't think that's going to cause issues. Can't say for sure since his renewal forms have only been received and we didn't get any other updates yet.

hello Everyone,

I know the key to this process is patience but has anyone been to an interview and still had the I-485 status still at interview scheduled after a week?

No change or feedback whatsoever?

I've seen this happen before, yes. Some people just suddenly receive their green card in the mail while the status remains unchanged.

The interview letter that gives you the date of your interview contains a list of what you should bring to the interview. It's my understanding that as long as you submitted the AOS within a year of when the medical was completed, then you don't need to have it redone. That's what I'm hoping anyway since my husbands interview is tomorrow and we didn't redo his medical which is now over a year old. The medicals are pretty expensive, so we're just gonna take a chance on this that they won't ask for a new one.

You're right in that as long as submit your AOS application within a year of the medical, you won't need a new one - as long as the required immunizations were done or waived, and the medical was marked "complete".

Same situation.  We were told we were approved at the interview and the case status still says “interview scheduled” days later.

At our interview he asked if we had the medical and I freaked out a little, but then when I said I only had the old one he was like “well a lot of people bring it even thought they don’t need it and I figured I would take it off your hands if you brought it”.  So hopefully all of you will have a similar experience as long as you submitted it in time.

**sorry not used to forums.  Accidentally double posted instead of combining it into one
