Can I ask how long until you can receive the ead/ap card if it is Case Approved already?  And is there anyone here that applied for ssn too and how long until you receive the ssn card? Thank you. 🤗

It'll take around a week for you to receive your EAD card. I got my SSN card about two weeks after I got my EAD card, but it can vary.

I just received my EAD card. Thank god! I'm ready to go to the DMV office and get a real ID and learners permit. -- Still waiting for the schedule of my interview. You think How long would it take?

Well! Even I haven't received my interview date. I am waiting too. 🙄

In terms of getting a driving license, you will get the driver's permit first and then the driving license once u clear ur road test. You will have to clear an online test to get ur driver's permit first.

I am not sure but I guess if u get ur driving license then u cannot have a state id/residency id.

Most people above the the age of 21 prefer to obtain a driver license because it also serves as your standard state ID and you can only be issued one of the two.

You will be issued a temporary DL once you pass the online test at a DMV/DPS office.

Then proceed to have your Road test scheduled with them or third party agents (mostly driving schools) which is faster but more costs more.

Once you pass your test , you will be given  a brown envelope which you will take back to the DMV/DPS for a permanent DL to be issued.

When did you received your ead card? I live in california. I already went to dmv they said I can have a real ID and a learners permit as long as I have a proof of extended stay . and that could be the ead card. I'm not yet planning to get drivers license coz I dont know how to drive. Gotta learn first.lol thanks for responding:)

Last update from us:

EAD/AP Combo Card and Green Card received in the mail on the same day - exactly 1 week after approval. Didn't require a signature, just got left in the mailbox.

So relieved that this is over (for now). Good luck to everyone still waiting!

EAD/AP approved right before thanksgiving and approval notice received today. Waiting for interview to be scheduled but not worried about it since at least the EAD is done. Good luck everyone. Have a great holiday season!

Congrats! Did you receive the approval notice or the EAD combo card? My EAD got approved on the 27th as well, just wanted to know your status too as there has been no change in status for the last 5 days or so.
