I had my biometric over a month ago, EAD and AOS still says fingerprint review was completed it's so frustrating. I'm tempted to send an expedited request for EAD because my parents are in need for money at home. But Idk if that is enough proof 😔

no thats not enough proof and it seems everyone is pretty much still waiting for these things.  We had his bio in July and still no EAD or AP. In fact we had the green card interview yesterday so it looks like he will get his greencard before his combo card. Its just the way it seems to be now.

The EAD wait times are so ridiculous. The VJ estimated approval date just keeps getting later and later. A few months ago, the estimate for us was early November. Now it says December 9th. I know that we could literally get approved tomorrow, but my fear is that we'll end up on the long end of the wait instead.

I don't mean to be negative, but it's hard to see approvals for both EAD and green cards all over the place (especially from timelines that are nearly identical otherwise). I understand the wide variance in green card approvals, but I wonder why EAD approvals are so inconsistent when they are processed through the same center.

Totally agree. The VJ estimations keep changing weekly, processing times on USCIS website keep changing from 2.5 months to 7.5 months within a couple of months so it’s really hard to rely on anything, it’s better not to even look at them.

Myself and my husband are lucky that we are doing fine financially (not great, but not struggling)  but I honestly wonder how do they expect normal couples/families to cope up to 7.5 months with one spouse’s income? We talked about it last night at home and came to the conclusion that these long processing times are probably, at least partially, intentional to put couples into test whether they’ll make it or not, and also to deter people from applying.

Regardless of what it is, 7.5 months is ridiculous. I know for sure that my interview won’t be until March/April earliest, so EAD and AP is necessary.

Uscis processing times seem off, there’s people from February that just now are getting their EADs and that after several inquiries, service requests, ombudsman etc.

Totally agree that the processing times/estimates are pretty much useless (especially from USCIS). We are in the same boat as far as financials go - we have enough to pay all the necessary bills with some left over to have a life - but there's not enough of a cushion to be completely comfortable. Having a 2nd income will be such a relief, and my hubby will be sooo much happier.

I will say that despite all of that, it does make me happy to come home and see my husband every day. I also am lucky enough to live very close to my work, so most days I get to see him on my lunch breaks as well.

Update on my EAD - I had an employment offer and submitted a request to expedite my process on 10/2. Two days later (10/4) I got a notification requesting to fax supporting evidence for my case. On 10/11 my status changed to “expedite request approved” and today my status is “card/document production”.

I’m sharing this because I was hesitant to request to expedite my EAD. However, based on other comments here, it seems like requests like this are approved when they are supported by an employment offer and a solid cover letter detailing how not taking a job results on a severe financial loss.

Good luck everyone and I really hope we start seeing EADs getting approved!

Did you got any confirmation after  u faxed ur documents?

I decided to go to Fedex office to fax mine because of the confirmation and I got it. "TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION REPORT" which stated the number of pages sent, time and the recipient number. The 18162512290 number eventually worked for me after trying the 18162512771. I sent it at about 7pm as I imagined it might be too busy during day time.

I have a theory about why my approvals happened quickly but it's likely not the case. I phoned USCIS and asked them a bunch of questions about how long I'd be allowed out of the country once I have my AP and explained to them that my mum is ill. I didn't ask any questions about expediting the process because I'd already accepted the fact that an expedite wasn't going to happen. I wonder if this phone call pushed things along, I have my doubts but I still wonder. A month after this phone call I got my interview scheduled and then my combo card.

I think we all need to contact our congresspeople, our senators, and even the White House and complain about the extended delays. The government serves the people, not the other way around. If enough pressure is applied, I think we would suddenly see wait times drop significantly.

Elections have consequences.
