I really hope we hear something soon. I can't seem to go an hour without checking my emails at the moment, even though I know its unlikely to hear anything at this time of the month. My lawyer thought it would only be a 2 week wait for an interview date based on previous applicants so I've no clue what the hold up is. I've called the NVC a few times and they've said its the consulate, consulate told my lawyer its the NVC meanwhile I'm stuck here in NZ alone as my husband had to go back to the states and Im originally from the UK.

This whole process is a real test of patience.

Aww I'm so sorry, I'll reply here so we don't take up this whole thread -

The interviewer was pretty pissed even before the interview started. He interviewed the other couple I spoke of above before me. My husband walked to the window with me. He was like, "Please go and sit down! Why are you here? It's your wife's interview not yours. If I need you I will call you." His tone was so rude. I pretty much knew that the interview won't end well. But the thing is he's the one who went through everything and approved me. He appreciated my honesty and told me not to worry and all that. They deal with so many people everyday. They are just as humans as we are so I understand that. Infact, on the same day and time there were 2 other spousal Visa interviews and all of us were given 221g.

I didn't know that you had to go through Administrative Processing. How many days did it take and what was the reason for AP?

Good afternoon! I just wanted to tell you guys that my husband entered the USA yesterday!! His POE was Charlotte Nc. We had a layover for 2 hours. The process was flawless. The CBP officers were really nice. As usual CBP checked why we went to DR then I told them it’s my husband’s first entry and he was like oh welcome. He took our passports and said a few things to him in Spanish and had him place his right hand to get fingerprints. He then walked us to this holding room where another officer came and asked for my husband’s packet. I told him it was electronic and he left for about 20 minutes and returned saying “you guys are all set.”  Before i went i saved a website that gave me a round about time of how long the process takes and Charlotte’s process at the most on peak hours takes about 60 minutes. I was scared we would miss our connecting flight but we had more than enough time! Glad all of this is done for now! Blessings to all waiting and going through. May God bless you richly.

Congratulations! Wish you both the best on your new journeys here in the U.S. :)

Did the other 2 couples get approval after AP? Are you in contact with them?

Interview was on 16th. They took my photo album and some chat records. I was told everything looks good and I won't have to wait for long and they will get in touch with me in a week or 2. Also they returned back my passport. On the 18th morning they issued the letter requesting my passport. I had to travel to Kolkata to drop it there at VFS. So it was a 2 day AP.

The first one that was interviewed before me I don't have any contact with them. The other one is here on VJ but she's not active. They got approved. They only needed a co-sponsor. They also only had a court marriage and had their wedding and reception on June 8th and were asked to pick up the Visa on the 9th. Amazing wedding gift no?

There was another K1 couple who were approved on spot. And after a few days, the applicant got her passport back without the Visa. She's still in AP.

A verbal approval means nothing until you actually have the passport back with the Visa.

The documents were taken from me during the interview. I had this big photo album that won't pass through the interviewer's window. So he said he's sending someone to pick it up. He's then asked me, "Do you have any chat records? It's okay if you don't." I had a big pile of chats, emails, call records that I submitted along with the album. They gave a generic 221g and didn't ask for any additional documents on it. They issued the letter requesting my passport on the 18th. It was a 2 day AP.

It’s very frustrating. Trust me your not the only one feeling helpless and lost. I just did realize the wait for this part of the process to be so long. I mean 8 weeks just to get a IL and another 4 weeks till probably interview. That almost 3 months for just the second half.
