Yea cancel it, If nvc has your file there is nothing they can do even if you have a appointment. the good news is that if they have july 24 appointments available then maybe we will hear something between tomorrow and Friday.

Cancelled it immediately, shouldn't pose any problems right?

Also, one wouldn't want to find themselves in a situation where they've been double booked for an interview (one by themselves and one by NVC), because that will lead to all sort of problems for the person.

Out of curiosity, How'll NVC figure out we have booked on our own? We haven't given our case number in the scheduling thing. Through Passport Number?

Not sure how NVC will figure out but definitely the Embassy for sure will know you've double booked.

I'll think that option is for those who got expedites to schedule themselves. What good will it make if the Embassy doesn't have your case file yet from NVC but you've scheduled an interview?

That is correct. We got expedited and we scheduled our own interview and only after the embassy confirming it was “ready” on the CEAC tracking and getting the email from the embassy.

Also the link we got from the consulate to schedule our own appointment was this one (need to select country specific):

Oh gosh, i hope not.

what sucks is that D.R. will not be scheduling at all tomorrow because of Corpus Christi so our best bet is to hope and pray we hear something on Friday.

The schedule appointment option that you see on this website is for your biometrics appointment (fingerprint appointment) which you have to schedule after you receive your IL and before the interview. The next available appointment option is gone cause you already started filling out details and scheduling the appointment. When you do so you will see the continue option in the top of the list. Also please take care of not logging in to this website multiple times on one single day. It will block your I'd for next 72hrs. This happened to me. My interview was on 13th June and for biometrics I could see the next available date as 28th June. Some others from my country were facing the same problem. So best thing to do is if you don't see next available date which has to before your interview date just wait for few hours and try to login again. They keep opening the earlier dates as some people cancel and reschedule their biometrics appointment. So be patient. @DDP&JDP @ram007 @ram_shan hope this clarifies everything.

Also only people whose expedite request has been accepted will be able to schedule their actual interview on their own

One more thing, after NVC schedules the appointment, does the appointment become visible in our ustraveldocs account as a scheduled appointment directly or we use this only for scheduling Biometrics appointment.

On another note, have you received your passport. On Average how many days does Mumbai consulate takes to return the passport after VISA interview?
