Hi all,

Is there anyone stuck in Administrative Processing??

My husband has taken interview on May 31, 2019 and they gave 221g.

We submitted all the paperwork and since then it shows AP.

The date has changed twice but the status remains same i.e. your case is under administrative processing.

Anyone in the same boat??

It depends on what type of 221g it is. If it's not related to background/security check, it can be resolved pretty quickly like a month after submission.

One member here got 221g in Mumbai last month and she got approved after submitting documents in less than 2 weeks.

Good luck to you.

OMG look at the difference between IR2 and IR5 (is it because actually the number of applicants on IR2 is that much less or they are prioritizing IR5 that much)?

From this data it doesn't look like they are prioritizing  any category.

AP is open ended. What sort of documents were asked? Relationship proof or sponsor related or was it anything else? I think @dxb_Indian was talking about me. But the good thing for me was i didn't have to submit anything to VFS. The interviewing officer said to me everything looks good to him he just wants to have a look at our photo album and some chats (if I had them). And he sent someone from the embassy to collect it from me right then an there. If he had asked me to submit it at VFS, it would have delayed the process furthermore. He promised that I would hear back in a week and returned my passport. Even though I know their verbal promises or even approvals are not reliable but that man actually kept his word. Interview was on 16th May and they asked for my passport on the 18th. Got the call from VFS on the 18th evening. So it literally took them just a day to approve. It took me a while to submit the passport and get it back because when they called me for the passport drop off from VFS Mumbai, the lady on the phone asked my nearest drop off location which is Kolkata. I listened to her and booked my flight to Kolkata like an idiot. If I went to Mumbai, everything would have been faster.

Another member from here who had his interview on the same day as mine was also put on AP. They kept his passport and asked to upload documents for a new sponsor. It took 2 and half weeks for the status to change to issued.

There was another spousal Visa couple who was put on AP and her passport was returned. They haven't heard back from the embassy at all. All three Spousal Visa cases on the same date and time as mine were put on AP. Another K1 couple were approved on spot but they are still on AP even after being approved.

It's good that the last update date is changing. That means they are working on your case. If everything you submitted is okay, it will soon change to issued.

I understand how helpless and frustrated you must be feeling but there's nothing you can do at this point. Just take care of yourself, pray and hope for the best. Good Luck!👍🏻

Hi Everyone,

First of all, congratulations to all who got Visa approvals and IL and CC in past 13 days.

Good Luck to those who are waiting. Patience is the key.

I was bit busy with my medicals, biometrics and EID celebrations.

Secondly, I had Interview yesterday on 13th @ Mumbai embassy. (CR-1)

AND ALHAMDULILLAH "MY VISA GOT APPROVED" . :)

I want to thank whole VJ community, especially seniors members, experienced members like @nastra30 @nyokie @KJ2 @ShreebhagyaK9 @Sarah Kay @sj0509  and all those who have helped me. Sorry as i couldn't tagged you all.

So experience was about patience.

Appointment time was 7.30 am.

I was in Queue at 7.00 am.

They checked and arranged documents at 8.10 am.

Passport, DS-260, Birth certificate (+1 copy), Marriage Certificate (+1 copy), PCC - Indian & Australia (+1 copy each). Medical Reports Envelope.

The counter guy asked me about my Language preference for Interview which was English. Then He asked,

1)Who  is calling you ? 2) My Birth date 3) Is it our first Marriage ? 4) How Long I have been in Australia ? ( I studied in Australia)

5) Have I ever been to USA ? 6) What other countries I have visited ?

He took all originals and returned all copies.

Then Asked me to wait for Interview call.

Then patience game begins.

They call for interview randomly.  of course Special need ones and other languages got preference.

I was waiting for 2 hours and last of my batch.

Then FInally at 10.05 am I got called.

She greeted me and fired with questions politely.

1) Who's calling you ?

2) Arranged OR Love  marriage ?

24) Again she asked why she did not visit you again ?

Ohhh. Then She said 'Your Visa is Approved". Alhamdulillah.

She was noting down all my answers in her system.

All these questioning happened in 12 minutes. Nearly, after 1 year and 3 months of applying  I-130 finally this phase is over.

Special Thanks to @sj0509 for sharing his wife's experience. I have been asked Similar questions to her.

Good Luck Everyone. I Would Love to read more success posts from all of you.

Congratulations @M@K12

That's a lot of questions and I so glad you handled it well. The way they shoot questions sometimes, it's very easy to get nervous. Happened with me once during a US toursit Visa interview which was denied anyway. Sounds crazy but I forgot my birthday and anniversary. 😜 But I am happy that it went well for you. Keep tracking CEAC and have an ice cream party when it changes to issued 😂

Thank you so much @ShreebhagyaK9.  Well only thing is We stay honest.

and its hard to stay calm but we can try at least.

I must say she was so polite and didn't bother if i asked to repeat questions. There were kids playing behind me.

I can understand why you forgot your birthday and anniversary in past, nervousness can overcome us.

I am also glad for you. Hope you're packing bags.

And The status is 'ISSUED' I checked before posting here. We can have ICE CREAM PARTY.  😂

That was quick. Ice cream party is fun 😜 Challo you deserve it!

You are right. Honesty is the best policy. The interviewer sometimes keeps asking the same questions, maybe to see if your answer changes. And when you are honest, there is nothing that you really need to remember except for dates 😜

My bags are almost packed. My flight schedule changed. Now it's 39 hrs 40 minutes. Earlier it was 19 hrs 40 minutes. That's so insane 😂
