it really wasn't an interview.  it was just an appointment that we had to make to so we could go turn in additional evidence.

So my wife recently had her interview at HCMC. Unfortunately, she received a 221-G (blue slip). The CO asked her a few questions, handed her a blue slip and sent her on her way. The CO never ask for any additional evidence during the interview which confuses the hell out of me.  It's like they already knew she was getting the blue slip.  It was the generic blue slip asking for ex info, list of her relatives in the US, relationship timeline, family info, credit card statement for airline ticket purchase. Now my question to you guys is, have any of you guys ever received a blue slip for this additional evidence.  if yes, after turning in the additional evidence, did you get approval for your visa?  I just feel like the recent immigration fraud arrests happening in Houston had something to do with our refusal.

Did they require the information "list of her relatives in the US, relationship timeline, family info" to be in a sworn and notarized statement? Thank you!

Not sure about his case but for ours they asked to fill out family tree, relationship timeline, airline tickets, credit card statement, ex's info, etc...After we turned in all those they put our case in AP, been almost 90 days.  I'm going back to Vietnam to visit my fiance(4th time) next month and they say I can stop by the embassy and talk to the CO and provide additional evidence. I'm hoping to get her out of AP and visa approved.

Thank you! I hope you hear some good news soon! The case for my wife is in the final stage with NVC (resubmitted document to NVC about 2 weeks ago) and I have been reading a lot of on this forum about rejection from interview in HCMC mostly looking for additional information. I am trying to prepare all those information in advance but wasn't sure what format the CO usually requires. Some said in a sworn statement but others did not mention. I plan to fly to Vietnam to interview with my wife.

Good luck to you as well.  AP is a pain and the info they requested are not part of the documents required to bring to the interview.  Some people they never asked for those things.  I wish I've attended the interview with her because I've heard chances of getting approved is very high when petitioner and beneficiary interview together.  Good luck.

Yup! We got the same thing and was put on AP after we provided all the info.  I was able to talk to the CO while I was in VN and provided additional info (chat logs/moneygram receipts) but still under AP.  There isn't a whole anyone can do when the case is under AP.  Just pray and wait that's all you can do.

I'm giong to start an K1/K2 for VN and I have to ask:

What airplane tickets?  The ones you bought to see your fiance or for her to come to the US?

A list of the Petitioners relatives?   How far out on the tree???  Third cousins???

Do you think including this info in the P3 (or the consulate package) would help?

VN is one of the few consulates that allows spouses to the interview... I would think showing up would be a huge + but it still seems pretty random.

Yes, you're being there would increase the chances of being approved for sure...They might not ask you anything but at least they know you're there if you have any doubt about the relationship.

This is only if they don't approve her Visa the first time but yeah, they ask for all kinds of evidence.  The airplane tickets they want are the ones that you go to visit her.  Make sure every ticket that you buy, keep the actual ticket stub and print out the credit card statement that you bought it with. As far as my relatives, I did my grandparents, parents, siblings, aunts and uncles. As far as going to interview, it's up to you.  I didn't go because I wanted to go escort my wife to America because I didn't want her to travel by herself so I didn't go to any of her interviews.

I find this odd that the consulate wants  list of the anyones family.  Without other identifying information (date of birth, address, ssn) its completely useless to type 'John Smith' in the computer and expect anything relevant.

Did you just have to list names or addresses/phone numbers?

Vietnam is a high fraud country and people married their relatives to bring to America that's why they want a family tree info.

Did you just have to list names or addresses/phone numbers?   https://vn.usembassy.gov/family-tree/

I always ask this:

What is your source?  Do you have a legit USCIS/DoS list?  Everyone talks about this list, and I've read dozens of GAO reports, and never came across one.
