A Little Confused

I emailed the embassy in Haiti the other night and the response I got today out of the conversations leaves me not knowing what to think. Can someone please help me understand all of this? The email today said to sign into CEAC and if it states it is at the NVC then talk to them and if it states READY then we can talk to the embassy. I signed in and it says that it is at the NVC and underneath that it states to send any needed information, etc. When we sent out the packet to the NVC last December, they wrote us back saying we needed another sponsor and to bring these new papers to the interview. If the NVC does not need any new information now from us, why does CEAC still say that our paperwork is 'AT THE NVC'? I've been lied to before by a NVC employee who told me that if the sponsor wasn't enough then NVC would ask for new paperwork and then send it all to the embassy once they got the forms for the "new" sponsor, yet after sending in our packet to the NVC, we were informed that everything would be sent to the embassy to which we would bring the new papers to the interview. Please help us with any information or insight to all of this. It feels as if we are being played games with -- do they play games with some people hoping to lessen the amount of immigrants? Just thought that are now going being wondered...

Also, NVC told me that after two years of marriage instantly it would change in their computers from CR1 to IR1. I saw on CEAC today that it is still considered CR1. How do we get this changed now?

So do you have an interview date? Did you get the email saying you were Documentarly Qualified (Case Complete). Your petition package doesn't go to embassy until an interview is scheduled. and you say you have been at NVC since December.

No they aren't playing games. When last you spoke to the embassy to find out what's up with your case? You need to find out if you have case complete first.

It does change in their system within their system you will be changed to a IR1. Don't worry about that at interview just verify "We are a IR1 getting a 10 year green card correct) and at the POE. No big deal.

Case Complete to Interview spreadsheet

From now on your VJ Member name will be verified. If the name you put on form to be added to spreadsheet comes up not found, you will not be added to the spreadsheet. If you don't have a timeline you will not be added to the spreadsheet.

Please Please put your VJ member name only. Not nicknames or real names whatever your VJ name is. It's below your profile picture!!

No we do not have an interview date yet at the moment. Every time I have called NVC (2 or 3 times), I also asked while on the phone with them if everything looks complete and they say everything in their computer shows as complete and ready for the interview. I'm assuming the email I got stating to bring the extra documents to the interview was the case complete letter. I'll have to double check to make sure. Okay so I won't worry about IR1 anymore and trust that all is well with this. I know our case has been delayed because of all the turmoil in Haiti; supposedly the embassy there is now supposed to be open for interviews.

(We sent in all the paperwork to NVC in December; we started at NVC back in September but had to wait for documents before we could proceed.)

So, about the embassy this is the deal and what I was told. I emailed the embassy the other night and today received an email that stated...

When I go to CEAC, it still shows "At NVC". When does it change to "Ready"? Does it change to "Ready" when it is sent to the embassy? I don't understand all of this totally.

Call NVC again and ask (or check online in your ceac) if your case is complete. If it is, they may just be waiting for an interview slot opening from the embassy in Haiti before they mail your package there. It changes to ready when they mail it to the embassy.

I told you. Your case is with NVC and will remain there until you are scheduled an interview. So it will stay in the AT NVC. Once they send off you should see if you monitor "In Transit". Then when it arrives at embassy it will change to READY.

You need to be asking NVC have they completed scheduling for Haiti for the month of June. There is nothing the embassy can do for you.

Okay, I understand what you are saying now. Thanks for taking the time to explain it more clearly.

I'm just wondering now after reading your response again. How does it look in CEAC when the case is complete? I just want to make sure I know what I'm seeing and that I'm not assuming or guessing that all is well. NVC has told me the case is complete, but I'd like to check CEAC just to see there as well.

I’m not sure how it looks on CEAC, i forgot how was it during my time. If NVC told you that your case is complete, then you just have to rely on it. You should also be receiving email from NVC about the case complete status which is more formal conformation than from a phone call if you are worried about it.
