Sorry, I don’t seem to get emails for every response or message sent on here so I pick up bits and pieces.

Looked back and found all the links you sent, thank you!

I actually think getting my vaccine records and a letter from my gp explaining my medication is going to be more difficult that the medical itself. My doctors are totally useless..

You don't need vaccine records. Would they like them YES, are they necessary NO. Only thing you need from the GP is you have had any major surgeries or diseases. Otherwise show up with a grin like this :D

Ahhh I was under the impression taking vaccine records (I probably haven’t had an injection for 10 years?!) and a note from my doctor about my anxiety medication was a necessity! Takes a little pressure off.

Even trying to get an appointment to see my gp is a fully fledged Nightmare!

thanks so much!

Hi Everyone,

I've been following VJ (and all the useful instructions) for a while now, but thought I should now get involved with my June  I-129F group.  I received my NOA1 dated June  20.  And I've created an account on the USCIS website to check on the petition every now and then.  So, right now, am just waiting like the rest of us.

In the meantime, I'll share an I-129F snafu that may be good for a laugh.  So I put together a really good I-129F package (read all the VJ tips), even going so far as to 2-hole punch all the documents as USCIS says it is really handy for them.  At the same time, I had just received a new credit card for using overseas  (no foreign transaction fees) and it came with those paper "convenience checks" that you can use for a balance transfer.  Well, I thought the I-129F filing fee would be a great use for one of the checks, so I used it.  Filed the packet in May, then flew down to Brazil to see my fiance.  While there, I used an ATM, which -- for some unknown reason  -- caused my card to get a fraud block placed on it (yep, before leaving the US I had notified the bank that I would be traveling in Brazil).  And as luck would have it, USCIS processed the convenience check on the same day that the card was blocked.  By the time I got the card unblocked, it was too late.  But I only knew that a week later when the bank sent me an email that my convenience check had been rejected due to a fraud block.  And sure enough,  a few weeks later, the USCIS website said my petition was denied due to lack of fee submittal, AND that I now owed them $30 for an insufficient funds fee.  Geez.  Fortunately -- as suggested on VJ -- I had made an exact duplicate of the I-129F packet and was able to get the new one in the mail (with a bank money order this time) about 3 weeks after the first one.  All in all, I lost about a month of filing time, $30, and a lot of frustration.   And a few weeks after that, USCIS was kind enough to send my original package back.

Oh side note:  it doesn't seem to do any good to add sticky notes or tabs with explanations to various pages in your package, because the rejected package came back with a ziplock baggie full of all my sticky notes and tabs -- they just pulled them all off.  This was at the California processing center (WAC).

Good luck to everyone,

--Mark (Petitioner)

I would not suggest working that far. Requirements and forms are changing all the time. You can get your tax transcripts together as well as any police certificates where the beneficiary has lived for more then 6 months from the age of 16. Do that now where as other documents for the beneficiary need to be an original and one copy. They need to be translated to English. This is enough to get you started. Some items have an expiration date but these I just gave you do not.

Thanks, Greenbaum.

I have all my 2018 tax return docs and I just read that we cannot file for my fiance's police certificate because we need to include the A# on the sheet for NZ - which I guess we will receive with the NOA2 😑

We received our NOA1 6th June!! Waiting ummm patiently?! ... lol

Quick question.  Should we be worried the cheque hasn't been cashed yet?  It will that happen when uscis gets to the case

Why would you be worried your NOA1 means they got your case. Uncle Sam WILL get his money don't be concerned with that part.

Don't worry about the government taking your money. If anything,  that's what they're good at. Seems they're faster at taking your money than adjudicating your case. Sit back relax and don't worry about your money. They will have plenty more opportunities to take more of it at the interview, AOS, LPR and naturalization. They will be standing in front of you with their outstretched hand, you know the one that's tainted green.

Haha  thank you.  I was just a little worried as I figured the cheque would be the first thing they cashed.  Everything takes time. Might run ti the store for a 6 pack of patience...

Haha, that's funny but sorry for the delay it caused.  You were brave to use a Balance Transfer check.  They usually come with some fee, no?  Why not just use G-1450 (to pay by credit card)?  Not that it would saved you in this case.  :-)

Hi guys!!

Hope everyone’s having a smooth wait. I have a (probably pretty dumb) question about the NOA1. So I’ve just noticed the hard copy has a Notice date, and a Received date... I’ve been going by the Notice date for my timeline, but is it the correct one? or would it make sense to use the received date, since that’s the date they actually opened the packet? I mean it wouldn’t make much of a difference anyway but I’m just curious at this point. What date did you guys use for your timeline?
