Hi all,

We're all about a month in so far 😊

Just wondering if anyone is taking the next steps before packet 3/NOA2 comes in? We're thinking to start DS-160 and I-134 in August some time.

I would not suggest working that far. Requirements and forms are changing all the time. You can get your tax transcripts together as well as any police certificates where the beneficiary has lived for more then 6 months from the age of 16. Do that now where as other documents for the beneficiary need to be an original and one copy. They need to be translated to English. This is enough to get you started. Some items have an expiration date but these I just gave you do not.

I did exactly that, Requested my police certificates, and got my birth certificate translated. 🙂 If you’ve lived in several countries for longer than 6 months, you should definitely try to get the police certificates as soon as possible, it can take a while (!!). I had to get certificates for three countries, two took 3 weeks, one (Germany) took almost 8 weeks (!) just to get the certificate. And it wasn’t cheap either. I have also looked into getting the necessary shots, but I’m not too keen on that part. I was happy to find my shot records lol.

Some medical exam facilities will include all vaccinations in their fee. The Philippines is one. Others you can get them for free which is true about Canada.  Do research to see if you can save some money.

Thankfully he only ever lived in the UK but I’m gonna go ahead and start the police record process maybe in August.. I’m dreading the vaccine situation! I know I’m gonna need some...

We send in the petition on june 18th, it was received june 21th. My petitioner received the NOA june 26th. And now we wait :clock:.

The only thing I'm worried about is that we didn't really added a letter describing the circumstances on how we met. He did say on the form how we met, but not very detailed. We put in al lot of photo's and boarding tickets to prove we've met in person. I hope that will be sufficient.

You should be fine. They don't need your love story just a little about how you met.

Yeah we didn’t add a cover letter either!! I’m so bummed out that i only found this website after we already send out the petition!!! I am not too happy with the package we send, but at the moment we send it, we send everything that was requested. And it didn’t say to add a cover letter of any kind. We send in 40 pictures of the last few years of traveling and our engagement and whatnot, and I described the timeline of our relationship in my letter of intent to marry. I didn’t even send boarding passes, but I did send the overview of all the times I entered the USA,  so to proof how many times I visited him. I hope it will be enough.. it was difficult enough to fill out the form!

I applied for NBI Clearance and got a hit. Asked me to go back after 2 weeks. Good thing I did this early while waiting for NOA2. Hopefully process will be smooth after this. I'm not nervous for the interview, but the medical process is what scares me the most. I've seen May approvals rolling in. Our turn should be soon ❤️

A little love for my answer earlier where I gave you many links to help you along the way would be appreciated.

NBI Clearance is for the Philippines only and is not used in the process for your visa their in the UK. The NBI is the National Bureau of Investigation and Filipino's must get their Police Clearance from that part of their government.

No one usually fails the medical. Failing is only caused by contagious diseases which most are curable. Here is what is examined at the medical exam.

Recommended components of refugee domestic health assessments

  • Review all available records, including chest radiograph (ask for overseas records)
  • Complete a history and physical examination, including vision, hearing, and dental evaluation
  • Conduct mental health screening and, when clinically indicated, a more detailed social history, including any history of trauma, torture, or rape
  • Evaluate for infectious disease including tuberculosis, HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, and malaria and other parasitic infections (schistosomiasis and intestinal nematodes, including Strongyloides), depending on local epidemiology
  • Review overseas records for presumptive therapy for strongyloidiasis, schistosomiasis, or malaria, depending on point of departure
  • Evaluate for chronic diseases, including obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and nutritional deficiencies, such as vitamin B12 deficiency in select populations
  • Perform age-appropriate cancer screening, such as mammography, colonoscopy, or Papanicolaou test
  • Update immunizations as needed
  • Complete laboratory testing as clinically appropriate: hematologic testing, urinalysis, lead, HIV testing, hepatitis B testing for those arriving from countries with prevalence >2%, specific sexually transmitted infection testing, or other screening, such as basic metabolic panel and liver function testing

There is one item that is in your favor and that is getting an RFE for missing items. That will be the time that you can add what the adjudicator is looking for to complete your application at USCIS. For what you explained above, you have nothing missing that would cause you to fail but possibly you will receive and RFE. Relax, 99% of the ppl who apply go on to receiving a visa.

Sorry, I don’t seem to get emails for every response or message sent on here so I pick up bits and pieces.

Looked back and found all the links you sent, thank you!

I actually think getting my vaccine records and a letter from my gp explaining my medication is going to be more difficult that the medical itself. My doctors are totally useless..
