Abother question 😁 My fiance has a daughter. I know i can petition her as k2 also, but he is not with his daughter because he is not in good terms with his daughter's mom. So we chose not to petition his daughter as k2 for now, because we knew that the mom wont let him. Is that ok?

FYI =  K-2 Follow to join must be completed within a year of your visa being issued.  If you don't get the K-2 visa ISSUED within that time frame means filing a separate I-130 petition (taking roughly 9 - 12 months)

It would have been easier to do it now whereas the K2 would be approved and could follow within a year of mom's visa.

Even if we want it now, his daughter's mom wont let her go with us. So we can still petition his daughter as i130 in the future right?

Hey everyone!!

So happy to have found this thread. My boyfriend is from the UK, but is currently living in the Netherlands, so we picked our local embassy office to be in Amsterdam! Sent in the I-129F on June 17th and received the NOA1 on June 24th :)

FYI - it doesn't matter what you pick on the form; the question shouldn't even be there (since you can pick embassies/consulates that don't handle K-1s).

The NVC will always send your case to the embassy/consulate that covers where the beneficiary was living as of when you filed. If it turns out that you actually want it handled somewhere else, you have to request a transfer (which may or may not be granted).

Has anyone else been getting the update emails that keep moving the approval/NOA2 date back? They're not my favorite to keep opening up!

I'm assuming the updates you are referring to are from VJ. If so they are only guesstimation and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Hi all,

We're all about a month in so far 😊

Just wondering if anyone is taking the next steps before packet 3/NOA2 comes in? We're thinking to start DS-160 and I-134 in August some time.

I was thinking about doing the police certificate and trying to get relevant forms from my GP in advance...
