Hey hey, hope everyone's doing well! We just received our P3 in the email roughly 11 days after the nvc sent our case

I do have a question, the P3 instructions were sent to my fiance's (petitioner's) email instead of mine, so "Once completed, please do email us the confirmation pages for the online appointment and DS-260 or DS-160 (K visas)." Should i send this with my own email which i written in my Ds-160 or should i send it on his so they wont be confused?

They don't care what email you use to return the requested information which in your case is the DS-160. You are overthinking the process.

Hi all,

We have received NOA2 date of June 19, but our case# has not assigned yet.

It has been already a month and I’m very worried that I do not have enough time to prepare all required docs within the validity period.

Today is a big day for some as your case file may ship out to your embassy. Check CEAC for updated progress and look for "in transit"!! If that shows you are on your way. Shipments are throughout today and tomorrow so don't get discourage if your record at CEAC has not changed over to "in transit” Also, for those who want to have a little fun in tracking your shipment see the DHL hack on the first page of this thread NUMBER 19 for instructions. NOTE: The DHL hack information will not be available till Wednesday as the DHL and NVC computers must sync with each other to produce the outcome.

You have three stages 1) transit - shipment is in the air or soon will be, 2) received - physical case file is at the Embassy and 3) ready - your case is ready to schedule and complete your interview.  These will be your current state or status to your case file once you have received the case number. Once your record is set to "ready" you are ready to proceed in processing your next steps as listed in your P3 for your embassy.  I have most P3 if you hit me up with a request, I will post back the links.

Please don't screenshot and post your CEAC status as it just clutters up the thread. We all know what it looks like. Let us know your progress as we want to celebrate with you. Good luck.

Trying to call the NVC, so I suppose I should be calling the second number to inquire about my K-1?

1-603-334-0700 is for immigrant visa

1-603-334-0888 for non-immigrant visa

Your still a little early to be calling NVC. Your file takes at least 30 days and another 1-2 weeks for case number assignment. End of next week would be a good time to start calling so as not to clutter up the phone lines only to get the "it will take 6 weeks" message and the discouragement. JMHO

You'll have a full year to complete the interview. You'll have plenty of time to gather your papers. Here is some help in what is needed. Look it over and see what you can get now in the way or government documents as they are the ones that take the longest to get.

You were right, of course ;)

But hey, I should be calling the 0888 nr, right? Sorry for asking, but I am quite confused as to when is the K-1 treated as immigrant visa and when as non-immigrant.

Your a immigrant till your visa is issued then you revert to a non-immigrant status. There is nothing that you need to concern yourself with those two designations. You can use either number to call NVC and you begin following your status on ceac.state.gov with "immigrant" to see the status of your case once you have the case number.

I have started to gathering some docs which we do not need the case #. Example: birth certificate, affidavit of Support, Japanese police report (with NOA2)vaccinations and etc.

However those docs will require the case # are time consuming one, especially police report from Singapore where I worked before. That’s why I’m a bit worried.

Don't do anything in advance until the case is ready at embassy and the embassy sends you an email to the petitioner to follow these steps for Scheduling interview, Medical exam, police clearance etc.  Usually takes about 2 months to receive.
