We were blessed to meet a person from this site who gave us the P3 information for our embassy in advance. 

 

This was the process SPECIFICALLY FOR PANAMA.

 

Panama is a bit different from other countries.  You have complete the DS-160, print the confirmation page, and then you have to to pay the visa fee at a specific bank (Banco General).  After you pay the fee, you have a year to schedule the appointment.  You have to email the confirmation page and a copy of the Banco General Receipt to the Embassy.

 

There is also a website called Atlas that handles the delivery of the visa after the appointment.  We set up our profile there, and printed off the confirmation page.  The confirmation page needs to be emailed to the Embassy.

 

The embassy also asks for the I-134, 2018 tax return transcripts, 2018 W-2, a copy of the beneficiary's passport, a copy of the beneficiary's residency card, and a copy of the petitioner's passport.

 

We had all of that information ready, and when our case reached the embassy and our CEAC status changed to READY, we emailed it all to them, using our case number and last names as the subject line.

 

They responded the next business day.

 

And we STILL don't have an appointment date.

Here is the letter that you will receive from Mumbai Embassy. Read it over carefully and follow the instructions. Another member of VJ added some additional information contained below which outlines what he experienced.

Once you received your case number from NVC,  I would recommend you fill out DS-160 form and submit. Some say the packet 3 letter is nothing just waste of time same thing they have mention which you easily get from USCIS website when you called to the clinics to book your medical appointment date they will ask you have you received your packet letter or not. Just say yes and booked the appointment date however you will receive that letter within 2 weeks the day you will get your NVC number.

Go on USCIS website make your account with password and then pay your fees to Citibank or Axis bank. They will give you reference number. With that number you can book your biometric and interview appointment date. The fees are 18,500 and for medical but I recommend that you carry 20,000 with you in the event you need more. Be sure to  keep at least 7 days gap between medical and interview.

Tried calling the NVC to get a case number.  They have changed the recording three times this week.  Now, you listen to a 3 minute message in English and in Spanish and you are disconnected completely tried a few times with same result.

Are the prompts in the first post correct to what is needed to skip the "elevator music" and reach someone?

There was not a single prompt. On the third try to attempted to use the prompts from before to no avail.   Clearly, they don’t want to talk to anyone.

Try calling in the later evening hours. Others have indicated they have more success during those times.  I just looked at your timeline and you are way to early to be calling NVC. It takes about 30 days for them to get your file and another 2-3 weeks to assign a number. Give it a rest and call in 10 days.

Our NOA2 are around the same date. Mines June 20th. I literally just go off the phone with them and they still haven't received it ;-(. Oh well hopefully soon for both of us.

Thanks.  We were lucky on the noa 1 timeframe and then it looks like NVC processing times went up.   So maybe by July 21 based on Greenbaum’s note.   In the digital age this whole thing seems very old fashioned.   I also imagine that the 4th of July week had reduced staffing levels with vacations etc like everywhere else.

DS-160 can be completed at anytime between now and interview.

Does the status of NVC (ceac.state.gov) has to be changed to Ready by today for the file to be sent to embassy next week?

mine shows "AT NVC"... will I miss next week also, again? 🤦🏻‍♂️
