Edit: We're "In Transit" but I had to update an address today and the representative said it hadn't left the office yet, and that it would be most likely leaving tomorrow for me!

Edit: So you're saying, @Greenbaum that we could go ahead and fill up DS-160 and get a medical appointment without the letter from nvc, just with the case number correct?

You can complete the DS-160 now but setting any appointments and making any fee payments is based on the process that the embassy has posted in their P3 letter. Each embassy is different.

Anyones application going to the embassy in Montreal? NVC issued a number on June 20th and I have noticed other posters are saying their application is in transit today however mine still says at NVC. Just hoping that I haven’t missed this shipment.

Have you carefully read my "buckle up" post. I answer that question as well as some other bits of information for the asking.

 

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

 

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

 

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

 

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

You have three stages 1) transit - shipment is in the air or soon will be, 2) received - physical case file is at the Embassy and 3) ready - your case is ready to schedule and complete your interview.  These will be your current state or status to your case file once you have received the case number. It may have or it could be set to ready with only the electronic version. Without the paper case file your interview will not take place. Start your processing with DS-160 and then move to payment etc. Review the information below for the steps after the DS-160.
