USC Husband to Temporarily Stay Abroad While I-130 Pending

My USC husband and I have submitted our i-130 petition back in November/December of 2018. While we wait for our NOA2, would he be able to travel abroad and stay with me in Canada? He would be leaving his job. We do have a USC co-sponsor  for our Affidavit of Support that resides within the United States (parents place). We do have an address for my husband to return to in the United States. My husband will continue to pay for his car insurance, but that's about it.  We will have all required documents for the NVC regard affidavit of support, proof of income, etc.

He intends to find another job after around 5 months of staying abroad.

 

Is this okay? Will there be major delays or set backs?

This shouldn't be a problem.  A USC can file a petition from anywhere in the world.  The key to getting approved will be the evidence submitted to prove a bona fide marriage relationship, and his US-based income and US domicile, and you sound like you know about that, so he may have to return to the US a few months before your visa is approved to satisfy those requirements.  Spousal visas are taking about a year right now, depending on the USCIS service center your petition was sent to.  Good luck!

Ours was sent to TSC, which it's looking to be Mid-August before we receive our NOA2.

 

Once he returns to the US, is there any additional things we may need to do? He would have a new job, for sure. Living in the same domicile.

The only issue is sponsorship. Sounds like you have that covered.  Carry on.
