Professional hazard. I get paid to make predictions on future events. But I have a lot more data to rely on. Still, even with all the info, still making guesses to earn a living.

But I bet you never tell your clients or firm or whoever you forecast for, that the prediction is made with certainty....even though you have more data than you have here.

I don’t know your Morocco specifics of the PCC but I do know a number of people working in UAE at the time they are selected, usually from somewhere in Africa, do get successful DV interviews there. If he is a “dime a dozen” type worker then yes he probably doesn’t qualify anyway, I personally know a number of people working or who have worked professional white collar jobs that are not a dime a dozen in Dubai. There are a lot more skills shortages than just cheap labor in Dubai.

Lots of assumptions on this thread.

Without a high school diploma ,  he is not working a high skilled job

too many from Morocco go there to work in hotels and restuarants as cooks and house keeping

remember this person is not one of professionals

and sorry,  but in UAE they hire and let them go easily and replace them

it is hard in Morocco to find a job and there are thousands and thousands of young uneducated men looking for work

Moroccans are holding protests monthly if not weekly looking for the government to help with the job market

Like I said, lots of assumptions.

I don’t know if the level of the cousin’s job is sufficient for DV, but I do know that a public relations officer is not a cook or cleaner.

Hi all,

My cousin got selected in the DV Lottery, but he does not have a high school diploma. He currently lives in a UAE, and has enough experience. How can we make sure his experience can count.

Than k you

You don't make the experience count, he should have checked his job and the score of 7 or above

and i quote "on their website http://www.onetonline.org/. The O*Net online database groups work experience into five "job zones." While many occupations are listed, only certain specified occupations qualify for the Diversity Visa Program."

he should checked his qualification before submitting on DV lottery and taking someone's place.

but anyhow, good luck

Thank u for ur response. My cousin is at the moment a Public relation Officer which almost match one of the positions called Public Relation Specialist on the website with the eligible score. Is the way the job phrased make the difference? Thank you

It might, though they know job titles may differ company to company; the more important thing is to be able to  document that the duties your cousin does closely match the job description/ duties/ responsibilities listed on o*net. To prove this he can show his terms of employment letter, copies of performance appraisals, and anything else from the company like that, as well as paychecks that will indicate the job is of the type of seniority as being claimed

I would imagine a Dame Pipi would now be described as a Public Relations Officer.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
