Hi guys! I just want to know how long does it take it be approved or issue a visa? They asked my husband for an additional affidavit of support. He submitted it this May 23, 2019. The case last updated was already changed twice. From May 21, 2019 to May 23, 2019 to May 24, 2019. Do you really think that it would only take 2 weeks because that’s what the consulate officer told my husband. This is so frustrating.

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Agreed, hard to say. Is that all they asked for? How did the interview itself go? Administrative processing is not just while waiting for a document or them to verify/review it. It is also an entire other process after the interview for background/security checks, document verifications, ect... and can be short, a few days, to weeks, to months, and longer. Patience is key right now.

08/15/2014 : Met Online

06/30/2016 : I-129F Packet Sent

11/08/2016 : Interview - APPROVED!

11/23/2016 : POE - Dallas, Texas

From sending of I-129F petiton to POE - 146 days.

 

02/03/2017 - Married 

02/24/2017 - AOS packet sent

06/01/2017 - EAD/AP Combo Card Received in mail

12/06/2017 - I-485 Approved

12/14/2017 - Green Card Received in mail - No Interview

The truth is nobody knows. RFE requests and post submission processing at particular embassies have widely varying duration and we do not even have enough data points to make any guess. Sorry. However it should not be more than a few weeks.

Hi guys! May 29, 2019 my husband’s visa was issued today! Yey! It only took them 3 working days to review the additional affidavit of support/ joint sponsor from May 23, 2019. Hope this would help. Thank you for all of your replies.
