So today I received my passport back from the Embassy, along with the sealed envelope as expected..

However, along with the envelope and passport, there's the original I-134 that I took to the interview? I've not seen this mentioned in any posts i've read.

So my question is - should this of been in the envelope? Or perhaps did they forget to give it me back at the interview and are doing so now?

PS. I'd like to say thank you for everyone on this forum for the posts and guides. I've been a silent member, but your contributions and help meant we got to this stage, and we're incredibly grateful. :)

I got mine back too, not in the white envelope. I think they are just returning original copies of documents. The I-134 isn’t an “official” document, it’s just used to help the embassy decide whether you’ll be a public charge or not.

Mine was with the W-2 and police certificate they asked for at the interview.

Don’t worry, the embassy know what they’re doing. They’d have put it all in a new envelope if they made a mistake like that.

Congratulations!! And Hi everyone!

I am sending my I-134 and supporting documents to my Fiancé this week. His interview is on July 1.

What is best to send for supporting documents? Do I need to send everything listed below?

1. Bank Letter

2. Employer Letter

3. W2s (3yrs)

4. Tax Return Transcripts (3yrs)

5. Pay Stubs

Appreciate your assistance!

Skip the bank letter if she has a sufficient salary.

She could get approved on any one of the rest. My choice based on experience from London K1 reports would be this order.

#1 &2 Employer Letter (if easy to get) or 2018 tax transcript. Both are equal.

3. 6 months pay stubs

4. 2018 W2

Pick 2 and that's plenty.

So then a letter from my employer + pay stubs would suffice, then? I am trying to avoid providing tax transcripts only because my taxes from 2018 are several thousand dollars less than what I will be making now and going forward (was concerned this would look suspicious or something, maybe I'm being paranoid?).

Currently I make plenty to sponsor my fiancee, just trying to keep it simple.

Thanks for any additional insight you can provide!

Good plan. They do not require a tax return for a K1. They often approve on just an employer letter. The pay stubs can be your backup to make you feel more secure.

Just to be 100% sure, the i-134 form and supporting documents is only brought in by the beneficiary for their interview correct?

Correct.

Also, I can't help noticing your username. I've been in a dental nightmare for a month and a half, come fix me!
