This process has been breath taking & highly challenging since 2015.

Fast forward: Got my K1 2yrs GC April 2016. Filed for ROC exactly March 2018. ROC still pending. Filed for N-400 Feb 2019 (with hope from what i read here that it will force them to hasten my ROC or schedule me for both ROC & N-400 interview)

BUT i got interview for N-400 ONLY and went yesterday. The officer (interviewer) told me even though he's going to do the interview, he couldn't decide on it because my ROC file wasn't on his table. (But i could see a whole bunch of my files seating right in his front).

After the interview he said i passed the regular tests. among all the questions he asked me, he dwelt on the fact that i was working in another city and going home every weekend or 2 weekends. ( am self employed with store 7hrs away from home within the same state)

24hrs after my N-400 INTERVIEW, my ROC case status online changed from "CASE TRANSFERRED AND ANOTHER OFFICE HAS JURISDICTION" -----  TO ----- "MY CASE TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER OFFICE"

I AM SHAKEN AND SUPER NERVOUS NOW COS NOTHING IS SAID ABOUT MY N-400 INTERVIEW..... CAN SOMEONE WITH SIMILAR EXPERIENCE HELP ME PLEASE

They can't give you any information on approval or denial until they do the I-751 interview.

So you won't get any updates on the N-400 until your I-751 interview and it's approval or denial.

Contact your congressional rep and ask them to look into this.

That is unnecessary, especially given how quickly OP got a N-400 interview.

It seems things are moving along. Just have some patience and let that ROC work its way through the system. Don't assume there is a problem with your living situation unless they tell you explicitly that there is one.

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

3/26/18 Biometrics

There's nothing to worry about just yet -- at least as regards these latest case status updates. In fact, as others have said, they show that your pending cases are progressing rather nicely.

Here's what has happened: When you apply for ROC, your case is initially sent to one of the big services centers (Vermont, California) for processing. As you have experienced, that can take well over a year. If you then apply for N-400, typically the service center then forwards your case to your local USCIS (where you did the N-400 interview) for combined processing with the N-400. That's what appears to have happened here, although it came a little late (after your interview). Your ROC service center has transferred your case to your local office, which now has "jurisdiction" over your ROC and will process both.

Now the issue that was raised during your N-400 interview is a separate matter: Since you are applying under the 3-year marriage rule, it seems that the officer is trying to decide whether you actually live in a marital union with your spouse, since you both reside in different cities most of the time. In a weird way, evidence of cohabitation you provided in your ROC may actually help your N-400. Maybe. For now, relax.

My nervousness is highly centered on this fact "After the interview he said i passed the N-400 regular tests. among all the questions he asked me, he dwelt on the fact that i was working in another city and going home every weekend or 2 weekends. ( am self employed with store 7hrs away from home within the same state)"

He even asked me where do i spend more of the time? Of course at work cos i told him i only go home every weekend or 2 weekends. I don't think i answered that question cos we were talking back & forth. I only remembered saying weekends or 2 weekends.

He also asked where i live or sleep (as if i have accommodation in the city where i work)? I told him i have a small room in my store where i sleep. I used his interview office to describe to him how my little office where i sleep looks.

He also asked that when my wife goes to work, who takes care of the baby? I told him grandma was in the house taking care of him.

Hi,  transfers happening for ROCs are common. My case was transferred from California to Texas, the reason given was the workload. Don't be worried.

Even if they transfer, you don't lose your number in the cue, your case will be approved pretty soon :)... everyone is hoping the best for you..

Yeah all of that is basically the IO trying to determine whether you are living in marital union or not---living/staying separately in two different physical addresses temporarily is not a huge deal---many bonafide couples do so for various work/financial reasons.  Considering you both are still in the same State, shouldn't be as huge an issue, though....the main thing will be if your evidence of financial co-mingling still showed you are in marital union while physically separated.

My wife was in a similar situation.  She had her N400 interview while the I751 was pending, and she was told she was recommended for approval, but the I751 had to be finalized first.  Then a few days later we received a NOA saying the ROC was transferred to NBC in Nebraska.  A month later she got the NOA that the I751 was approved, and about a week later so was the N400 with the oath scheduled about a month after that.

God Luck!
