Yes that's true..The pending cases in both offices and the wait times are almost the same! After the increase in wait time, my hope now is that we would be done within a year.. From what I'm seeing, it appears that most people get their interviews after a year, I hope that we don't have to wait any longer

We wait 3 or 5 years to become eligible and then have to wait another 1 year for an interview - it's insane. And then people in some other areas get interviews in 2-3 months. It's not a fair system at all.

Updated estimated case completion time for the NYC Field Office (6/30/19): 13 to 20.5 months 😓

(no change on the lower end, small reduction on the upper end)

I think it’s great. At least something is changing/moving. It was 24, now it’s 20.5..

Thanks for the update? Has anyone seen a decrease in their estimate wait time as a result of that?

NO!

Any updates from Manhattan folks?! 30,000 pending cases yet about 0.000000001 % participate here.

The latest (depressing) stats for the NYC field office:

- has about 32,000 pending cases (as at 3/31/19)

- is processing <5,000/quarter

- you do the math...at that rate it would take at least 6 quarters (18 months) for them to clear the backlog if there were no applications for the entire time!

- no wonder people in Manhattan are waiting forever to get an interview....

My estimated case completion has improved - down from April 2020 to February 2020. This update took place in recent days as I check my account (for no good reason!) on a regular basis. Based on this I am supposed to be offered an interview in 6 months, January 2020.

Thank you so much for sharing this good news! :) I just checked mine after I saw your post and mine dropped to! I’m back to Feb 2019 ( that was the estimate that I was given initially before they increased it to June ). So I should be getting an interview in 7 months!

Yes, mine just went back to what it was to begin with before that weird and depressing update in May!

By that time frame, you should get the interview in January 2020, at least a month before the case completion date.

My estimate case completion date has changed various times:

- upon submission: March 2020

- immediately after biometrics: January 2020

- after review of biometrics: February 2020

- random update in May: April 2020

- random update in July: February 2020

So it's ranged from January to April....

Hi all!! I just sent my paperwork also, it was received in the beginning of July. Got the letter for my biometrics, scheduled for July 23rd, but managed to do a walk-in today, so i'm done with it. Currently my online estimate of completion date is April 2020 ( 9 months). I will keep an eye and post here if anything changes after my fingerprints are registered. Good luck to everybody !!

When exactly did you file? I filed via mail and my priority date/file received date is April 29, 2019, and I got the same estimate as you (case completion February 2020 and estimated wait time 6 months--January 2020).

Filed April 2020. But the estimated case completion date has changed multiple times ranging from January to April 2020. It's currently back to February 2020.
