Every day I wait and hope that there would be any changes in this topic/thread... I feel like it’s time, but nothing is happening and it makes me feel angry and miserable:-/

I hear you. It's seem like that situation in NYC is about as bad as it gets across the entire country. Basically we are punished for living here - that's how it feels anyway

Not yet... still waiting :(

Have you considered writing to Senator Gillibrand or Schumer? Anything is worth a try. Both of their websites provide the option to submit a request for advocacy in relation to an immigration case.

I just remembered that my friend from Mexico got her citizenship last January. She lives in Manhattan and it was marriage-based. The completion time for her case was 13 months: she got her interview 11 months after she applied (applied in December, interview was in December as well, then the oath was in January).

I don’t know if this is helpful, but it was even before all these backlogs happen...

That makes sense given that the latest case processing range quote for NYC/Manhattan field office is 13.5 months to 25 months.

I find the wait torturous. I have to live separately from my fiance during this period (he's in another country) and I can't sponsor him until I'm a citizen. Each day is very painful. If I was single and just waiting I think I'd be more tolerant of the extreme wait period but that's not the case. Travelling back/forth to visit him on a regular basis is also very costly but there is no other option for the time being.

I feel your pain.

My grandma is dying and I cannot go and see her. I’m just waiting...

I haven’t never seen my niece and nephew. I haven’t been in my country for 7 years, haven’t seen my friends and family... I really wanted to go this summer while the weather is nice there and while my grandma is still alive. I am not sure that I would make it. She’s very ill. Every day I dread to open the messages from my mom and my sister, because I’m afraid there would be bad news about my grandma... But there is absolutely nothing I can do. And it’s killing me.

Is there a chance of going at least for a short visit? The interview notice period seems to be about 1 month so you would have time to change plans if needed.

There is no chance to go for me before I got my citizenship.

I really think you should consider contacting a senator to see if they can help - anything is worth a try:

https://www.gillibrand.senate.gov/help/help-for-new-yorkers/request

https://www.schumer.senate.gov/services/help/immigration

You could also make an expedite request on humanitarian grounds (sick relative):

https://www.uscis.gov/forms/how-make-expedite-request

- the worst they can say is no?

Coming up on my 11 month anniversary of filing... to be honest thought this would be the latest I would get the interview notice, as I thought the interview would not happen more than 12 months after filing.  Guess I was wrong......

Every time I see you have posted I am hoping I see that you have received an interview date!

This wait is depressing and I am only at the 2 month mark...

I've stopped reading various other threads as hearing people get interview dates just a few months after applying is too painful to know about!

Have you thought about contacting a Senator?

@N400NYCthanks for the support!  I am not going the senator route, not now anyway.

If 12 months hits and still no interview, you should!

I wonder if/when the plan to redistribute cases to other field offices will start to have any real/noticeable effect in reducing wait times....

once I know the date (I assume late July) I will update the tracker in the main NY office thread.

wow.  basically it's a year... that is what I always thought...at the last possible moment the prediction came true!

Congratulations!!... Very happy for you, and honestly this makes me feel a little more hopeful. You are a July 18' filler and I'm an August one, so I would like to think that next month, I'll be getting the same notification, I can only cross my fingers, congrats again!
