I am curious. If you file 90 day early, do they just wait until the 3-year or 5- year before they gain processing your case?

I'm an early filer but I don't believe they will begin processing my case until April 1st. Do I have that correct?

No. They start processing your case before the 3 years or 5 years mark. A friend of mine filed 90 days early and had his interview in the same date of his arrival to the US.

The immigration process caused me PTSD.

I was hoping to find someone who experienced or know some that filed early but still get their cased processed so this helped. I'm guessing the USCIS rep lied to me.

If the early processing didn't actually start the processing, there would be no point to it.

Picture this: Your 5 year anniversary is July 1. You file 90 days early (April 1). But they only start working on it July 1. .. Well, you could have just mailed your application on July 1, and it would be the same.

So yes, the whole point of Early filing is precisely that the processing will start immediately, even if it's 90 days earlier than your anniversary date

People can be interviewed in the 90 day period prior to their anniversary but they can't take the oath until they hit the 5 year mark.

Anyway in your case that 3 months is just going to count towards the (long) wait time for the interview so it's still useful.

I think I’m still in shock but today received the “you’ve been scheduled for an interview” email 🤭

Don’t know the date yet / letter pending

But it seems there has been some improvement in the pace for Manhattan filers - interviews now taking place about 10-11 months after filing. I filed in April 2019 and will likely have interview toward end of February which is about 10 months.

Congratulations!!!!

I'm a Manhattan filler, July 2019, still no movement... :( estimated completion time is june 2020... trying to wait patiently :)

The wait is about 10-11 months for an interview for people who live in Manhattan. If that holds you should get an interview around May. The wait is painful, I know.

Well let's see how that goes, I have a trip planned in May, hopefully nothing will be scheduled in that period. But with my luck.. who knows :)) i won't be surprised if an overlap would happen

They usually issue the interview notice about 5 weeks before the actual interview so you will know then if there is any clash.

If you have not created or updated timeline then I would highly recommend doing that. There is timeline tracker in VJ that helps to see which month group are getting their interviews and if there are any outliers.

Just as I was hoping for it to decrease. Thank you NYC.

It didn't decrease unfortunately, it got worse. In December the lower range was 12.5 months.

June 2019 filer here with I-751 pending. Live in Manhattan, NY.

My estimated completion date changes approximately every 2 to 3 hrs and fluctuates between Apr 2020 and May 2020. Estimate wait time for interview notice is 21 days... I'm very doubtful but we shall see!

Good luck, I think it's possible. The average seem to be 8-9 months for an interview. Right now mine is saying August, I'm praying it to get it by at least May lol.

That wait time is for Queens or Brooklyn.

Manhattan/Bronx is longer - 10 to 11 months
