I think it’s a good compromise from CBP when the alternative is just to deny entry for suspicion of immigrant intent. I’d say the visitor is luckier than many.

Except it doesnt matter and they can AOS anyhow. So the annotation is pointless.

There was a comment in a similar thread a while back where someone mentioned the AOS interview can be treated as an entry interview so intent can be questioned at that point.  I am not sure if that is correct or not, and so far I have not been able to find any research on it, but if that is possible at the AOS, maybe they should start using it.

this is someone’s Visa stamp. Nigeria has too many overstays so B1/B2s have restrictions imposed. I pray current AOS applicants are not affected.

Annotation is toothless

My parents' and sister's was really for 6 months stamped on their passports during their POE. But of course they only stayed here for 3 weeks.

Good. This should be on all B1/B2 visas.

Nothing worse than a lying B1/B2 visa holder who decides to AOS.

Why you celebrating on such a sensitive issue? If you live in a Glass house, don't throw stones.

How do you know if he/she lied? let's not be judgmental, people need help and guidance.

The quote you're referring to was a generic statement. No one accused anyone of lying.

AOS on a b2 is a legitimate concern for most members on this forum.

How can it be a concern if it is legal? let's support each other and leave the rest with USCIS to adjudicate the rest.

That is not meaningful unless the actual laws pertaining to AOS from B visas are changed.

Then you will have mostly women US Citizens scream foul.
