My k1 visa was refused in January and now we recently filed cr1. I would like someone to share their similar experience with me where you have to file again and what circumstances you had to face in the 2nd petition? Islamabad Embassy told our local congressman that i was ineligible for that visa category. What could that possibly mean ???

Why was original K-1 visa denied? This is crucial to understanding why a spousal visa might also be denied if the 'issue' is not correct. Any red flags?

Well generally most people have a feeling why... red flags (large age gaps, religious differences, relationships out of the "cultural norm", minimum in person visits, ect).... any of these things could be cause of denial and it is important to "correct them"..

Paperwork means nothing honestly. All of that, for instance, with USCIS phase they just want to see you meet the requirements. Meet physically within 2 years and legal and able to marry... that's all the paperwork is for.

The embassy determines legitimacy of the relationship... and one visit, for Pakistan, not enough in general. (not attending the interview also no affect as not required).... and again other red flags can exist without you even realizing them.

My husband met me once when we got married and it was a nikah so we didn’t live together. He came back the same year and we had our wedding and we lived together for almost three weeks, I am from Pakistan and I think the embassy is not difficult at all. Alhumdulillah I got approved and got the visa. They didn’t even check my docs or even my divorce certificate, not even my call logs. I brought too much extra stuff though.

Some people get married and then file for k1. That’s also a reason or rejection sometimes.

My experience at the isb embassy is really nice.

Everyone's case is unique. OP has not mentioned other "red flags" or potential issues. Usually it's like pulling teeth on here ot get information to help them. Just from what they stated, that's main issue that can be observed, is it an issue for all? No, probably not.. also depends on the preparation of the I-129f petition in sense of front loading or not... can be several variables so.

You are right. But what I have observed generally here in Pakistan is that K1 is usually not approved. Besides, most people get married and the file for it considering it takes less time.

Ineliglble for that visa category means you have not meant the requriements to show a real relationship or they believe you are married and need to apply CR1 since you have already applied now for the CR1 , you knew you were married and tried to circumvent the system

She got married after the case was sent back and then applied for CR1 so there was no circumventing the system in this case, I know she didn't mention that part, but I know her story. We in a similar situation. K1 route from PK is useless , waste of time and money unfortunately.

yeah,   many of us try K1 and have to go further with a marriage and CR1

these countries are difficult but it is because "these embassys have seen it all"
