Yeah, this part was so frustrating. I'm trying to remember correctly how we worked around it. Make sure that you save every 2-3 entries, and when you do save make sure it actually takes you to the save page confirming it's saved. I remember for a while we thought it was saving each time we clicked "save" but we didn't notice it was actually giving us an error message because other portions of that page were not filled out... so make sure the entire rest of that section is filled and saved, and do the travel dates last.

We also had trouble entering 0 day stays... Every time we entered a 0 day and saved it, it would change things on previous entries. It was infuriating. It's tedious AF having to save every 2 minutes. You will still get kicked out like every 5 minutes but hopefully you can work out how to make sure it saves as you go.

Ugh YES. Finally got majority done though - just have to upload the pics!!

Can someone help me figure out which I have to pick when trying to book my interview for the K1? In the first step for registering I picked the K visa interview option. Super confused cause the email says to pick the immigrant option. Thanks.

Anyone else just waiting to book an appt? Mine says no appointments available and to check back in a few days. Is there a schedule as to how far out appointments get released or should I just keep watching like a hawk and refreshing the page every 5 seconds? lol

I would still select the third one stating that its a K visa appt as long as you received packet 4 which I'm assuming has lead you to this page.

There’s currently no appointments available. Based on other threads I’ve read, September interviews should open up the last week of July. I’d keep checking everyday to be safe.

I had a “ready” on my account and emailed them to inquire about P3. They emailed it to me within 24 hours :)

No mailed copy. I emailed the consulate to ask about when to expect packet 3 and they emailed it to me within 24 hours

Thank you so much for sharing this! I did the same, and emailed through the Public Inquiry form here: https://ca.usembassy.gov/embassy-consulates/public-inquiry-form/

and they replied the next day with the P3 instruction. Just waiting on the P4. I hope the appointments open up soon!

Hey!

I might be overthinking this, but I know all the instructions up to (not including) Packet 4 required us to collect Police Certificates from anywhere I've lived longer than six months AFTER the age of 16. The Packet 4 email didn't have the "after the age of 16" stipulation... do I need to get ones from earlier as well?

A little stressed and confused. 1973511849_ScreenShot2019-07-18at4_43_17PM.thumb.png.416c2b0204ee752c5828a3522e330409.png

I've read both P3/P4 avail online, and this list, and a few other sources trying to find an answer for you and all I've come up with is why the heck do they make this so confusing. They all say different things and all in very confusing ways 🙄

This chart (from here) is pretty helpful. So you might need a cert if you have a different country of nationality and were there for more than 6 months, even if you left before 16, that's my interpretation...

No, unless you have a criminal record from another country that you lived in for over six months before age 16.

Has anyone ever had the Montreal Embassy call them? I got my second ready yesterday so I submitted packet 3. I just received a phone call from the embassy but of course I missed the call and when I call back it’s just their generic number that they don’t answer, I also see someone touched my case again today because the “ready” updated again but I have received no email or packet 4.

thanks

Hey all! Thank you for looking at this. And, @MeghanK you're right, thank you for sharing the table, I am understanding it the same. So, if this helps anyone the gist is you need a police certificate if you have lived in your country of nationality for more than 6 months AT ANY POINT IN YOUR LIFE (birth to present day)...

This could be useful for people who are filing as Canadian Permanent Residents as opposed to citizens, then they would need a copy of the police certificate from the country they immigrated from. 🤒

Thank you again... incredibly helpful! :)

I just did this yesterday and they replied today with the packet 3 instructions. I wasn't sure if it would work since the embassy only received our case July 11 and other timelines looked like two weeks between receiving the case and sending P3, but it worked! Thank you!! Really hoping to get a September interview.

This is the forum I’ve been looking for! lol I’m in the same boat, can’t find any available booking.

Haha I got all excited with a notification that someone posted in here thinking that appointments had opened up but guess not. Welcome to the wait ;)
