They kept mine too.

I'm not sure if this applies to you or anyone else, but I forgot to ask for a copy of the I-94 at my POE. It can easily be retrieved and printed online at https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home. All you need to input is your personal info and passport info.

Oh good. I guess I just need to get originals again of financial documents and letters for the AOS

In case there is anyone out there still in the process of collecting their documents for the interview and reading this thread, please read:

I had my interview yesterday, and I was so sure I had everything I needed and would get approved. During the interview, I got rejected because I had a "name-based police certificate" instead of the one done with fingerprints. I didn't think to get the fingerprint one done because a) it wasn't specified in the P4 checklist and b) I found this unfortunate link which convinced me not to get it (lesson learnt: don't believe everything you read on the Internet):

https://www.***removed***/immigrant-visa/police-certificates.html. In the Canada section, it explicitly says: "Only name check based police certificates are required for U.S. immigration. Fingerprints are NOT required." etc etc.

Luckily, that was the only thing needed to approve my application and I won't have to start the process all over again. I just need to send my police certificate to the consulate via mail, and (of course) it will take them weeks to process it and approve my application. Because of the delay, I unfortunately have to push my wedding date, but I guess it could have been worse.. 😔

Too bad for the applicant. The Canada reciprocity site (travel.state.gov) clearly stated RCMP fingerprint-based certificate. It clearly shows that the applicant is not a member of this fabulous site.

Sad for the applicant. Delay. delay. delay.

Hi Everyone,

I am in the processing of putting together my AOS package. Can you tell me what supporting documents you included for the I485 and for the I864 if you have already done it? Just want to make sure my list is complete. :))

Thanks!

Sabrina

Thank you!!!  Also what did you include for the i175 and i131? Did you include additional passport pictures and copies of your passport bio / visa page and marriage certificate? Or is one copy enough?

I included all of the same stuff as mentioned above, plus my husbands W2s.

I used three different folders to organize my forms - adjustment of status, advance parole, and work permit, each with a cover letter, two passport photos, bio page of passport, and copy of visa. On the cover letters for advance parole and work permit I specified that I am filing them concurrently with my adjustment of status, as I’m not sure that it’s the same person who reviews each application and I don’t want them to question whether or not I have paid the fee already.

For advance parole I also included a letter from my dad’s hematologist/oncologist, as well as a personal letter I wrote, as I don’t want there to be any delay. I didn’t include my marriage certificate for anything but the adjustment.
