Hello! Congratulations 😻😻🌈🌈🌈

what do you mean by copy of canandian visa?

Thanks !!

Well since I am here on a Working visa I had to bring it to the interview as well as a copy of it.

If you are in Canada with a PR then bring that too.

Nov 27th @ 7:30 AM here. :)

Could have gone a week earlier, but that's when the other half is flying in from the US for a visit. Figured I should be there at the airport to pick 'em up, haha.

I posted this in the main thread but I was hoping I would get lucky since you guys look like you're active on here!!

My fiance had his interview in Montreal on 08/28, originally he was denied upon further review. On the train back about 3 hours later they send an e-mail saying they did a second review and we were approved. He overnighted his passport 8/30 (Friday) and the following Monday was a holiday. Tomorrow will be three weeks since they received the passport. The CEAS website is not letting either of us (and a lot of other members of VJ!) check our status and I'm getting nervous! He just sent a general inquiry through the website today. What does everyone else think? Is anyone else going through anything similar?

Omg that sounds awful! I would email the Mtl email (the one we sent our P3s too).

You are should get your passport back within 10 business days so I would definitely aggressively be trying to get answers.

If you don’t mind me asking why was he originally denied?

Hi Everyone,

I had my medical today with Dr Mascarenhas. It was a lot faster and easier than I had thought. He was very friendly. Now I just need to wait for the results and the interview.

It is terrible!! I went against all better judgement and we set a wedding day for 10/15 thinking we had it in the bag...booked things... and now panic is setting in.

That's a great idea, I'm going to tell my fiance to get right on sending that e-mail. I'm just so nervous something happened, the passport got misplaced, someone put some other mail on top of it, who knows.

He was originally denied because of his background. He got into some trouble when he was 17... he's 39 now. We were open and honest about it and it didn't show up in the police report, I think that whomever was interviewing us just wanted to make absolutely sure.

Awww! Yeah I agree. You should do all means to get in touch with them since you’re passed the usual 10-day timeframe..

Just a quick update! (it's been a whirlwind since the interview!). Visa was approved at the interview September 11, received email notification September 13 from Canada Post that it had been shipped. Arrived at the post office in Moncton, NB I had it to delivered to September 17. Open up the mail package and check the visa in your passport to ensure all numbers and names are correct. There's an envelope in there they make very clear to keep sealed.

I went through Port of Entry driving through the Houlton, ME border from NB. It was about 30-60minutes in secondary inspection while they went through the stack of papers in the sealed envelope and entered it into their system. Very friendly staff there who asked a few simple questions at the desk (how did you meet? are you on any medications?). My fiance drove through with me so it might have helped having him there. I provided a detailed packing list of personal & household items I was bringing in with me and their estimated value. They took all the information and had me fill out an additional import form. The car did not get searched. I had brought my interview binder in with me just in case they asked for any additional documents, but they only asked for a vet certificate for my dog. I-94 was stapled into the passport and cost $6.

They gave me a little American flag and told me congrats! We went and had a beer immediately to celebrate in the only bar we could find open in Houlton, Maine lol. I had heard mostly stories of people going through airport POE so I wasn't sure what to expect driving, but thankfully my experience was a good one.

Good to hear, I'm thinking of driving through Houlton as well when the time comes. :)
