How are y’all actually organizing all your documents? Binder? Stack of papers? Folder?

I bought a small little compact accordian file from the dollar store. It comes with labels inside.

Accordion folder - and one large sleeve with a copy of my birth certificate (wasn't born in Canada so the certificate is printed on like a giant piece of paper)

Lol wait for what??? Confused :))

Wait for the xray film and see if it will fit into the accordion folder... the BC did not fit into it so i was thinking that the film will be huge. Lol but love17 said medical report fit perfect in her folder so all good. 😉

Me. Again. I leave for Montreal in 8 days so prepping everything!!

My fiance (petitioner) is with a bank that has no physical branch locations (so modern lol). He's unable to get the bank letter for the I-134 supporting evidence. I've been looking through other threads but want to check with the recent Montreal people that this should be enough supporting evidence:

1) Employer Letter

2) 2017 tax return & 2018 extension filing

3) Year's worth of bank statements with deposits & current balance highlighted

Am I missing anything? I'll include his mortgage agreement under proof of US residency.

Hey all! Just wanted to update this part in case anyone else has been going back and forth with their banks on the phone like we have.  Because the bank statements don't contain any info on when the account was opened (and it would appear that info is mandatory according to the instructions), we were able to get a "Standing of Account" letter containing only:

Primary Account Holder

Account Type

Account Ending in

Current Balance

Date Opened

Because we have no physical branch to walk into, my fiance was stuck trying to explain to call center employees who had no idea what he was asking for or why. Once he knew to ask specifically for a Standing Account letter, they were able to fulfill the request right away. If this was obvious to you please disregard lol.

Hi... the instructions state “any of the following” so I believe that if you have enough evidence even without the bank letter being exact you are fine... copy and pasted the instructions here... thoughts.

As the sponsor, you must show you have sufficient income or financial resources to assure that the foreign national you are sponsoring will not become a public charge while in the United States.
Evidence should consist of copies of any of the documents listed below that apply to your situation.
Failure to provide evidence of sufficient income or financial resources may result in the denial of the foreign national’s application for a visa or his or her removal from the United States.
Submit in duplicate evidence of income and resources, as appropriate:
A. Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institutions with deposits, identifying the following details regarding the account:
(1) Date account opened;
(2) Total amount deposited for the past year; and (3) Present balance.
B. Statement(s) from your employer on business stationery showing: (1) Date and nature of employment;
(2) Salary paid; and
(3) Whether the position is temporary or permanent.
C. If self-employed:
(1) Copy of last income tax return filed; or (2) Report of commercial rating concern.
D. List containing serial numbers and denominations of bonds and name of record owner(s).

We chose to provide all the info we could considering my fiancé was self employed for half of 2018 and filed an extension for his latest tax returns. Wanted to have everything possible instead of the bare minimum just in case!

i totally agree with you - provide all the things way above the minimum requirement. don't settle for just one requirement or two. there's no harm in providing loads of information, just to avoid any RFE.

ok so cue the freak out. I just realized that my fiancé only gave me the W2 for his part time job that he only had at the very beginning of last year and not the one for his full time job...

Do we scan it and have my just print out the copy here or does he drive the 12 hours to give me the original document in time for my interview Wednesday? 😬

im just wondering how stickler they will be for having all of the original documents and copies or if this one thing just being a copy will be ok. Be honest!

We are printing my fiancé’s. All of his are online (he doesn’t get a paper copy, mine are like that too, all on a online hr system)

I’ll be taking copies of W2s to the interview, not originals.

He says to gain access to the online version could take a few days. All he has is the hard paper copy. We are working on getting it scanned now. Worst case scenario they’ll tell me they can’t issue visa until they see original? Or could they deny me over just the copy?

(I know I’m probably being super dramatic but I’d rather just know LOL)

Ok well that makes me feel better. I just noticed that originals and copies seemed to be stressed everywhere so wasn’t sure
